Oh yeah...smoking! Classic Gorge conditions, gusting 30 and choppy as hell but what a ride. My first post as a Yank, took the oath yesterday and got the piece of paper saying I'm a US citizen after living here for 30 years. Now to make windsurfing in America great again!

Started out with a Volt 30 on the SP80 replica and EVO8 5.6. Fin a bit too upright for the chop and had to be careful burying the nose going deep. Peaking out around 34 knots but on the edge. Switched over to the Raven 28 with extra sweep. Added 2 knots to the speed and much more comfortable, could launch it with ease for just under 37 knot peak. I love this country and the Gorge.

Sorry Boro not giving up the Aston Martins, I like my muscle cars British! As for the second suggestion, I like being on a team where team mates support each other.

It’s ok Roo, I forgive you....about the cars lol You got some fins coming. Take that ZSLM S- -2 for a spin in a nasty chop across the river and let me know what you think.

Let me bend them first then I'll get them wet. Hopefully not as flexy as the Chopper, that has some serious bendiness when flexed on the AFTTR. Showed 20mm of deflection at the tip. Takes a different sailing style to get them working.

Yes, they all have lots of flex. Kashy is the only stiffer one. Just push on it is much as you can, that makes it stable and fast. F-hot and ZSLM you can push hard without spinout worry. They will hold.

Didn't have any problem with spinout at all, only let go once upwind. Once you leant to sail the flex and always have them loaded it was pretty straightforward. I can see why they use them on the PWA, sailing overpowered they take lots of loading without letting go. Great for big sails and boards but not for top end speed, they top out around 35 knots.

Once is too many for me but I had it let go more than once. It is spinout recovery that is better on “other” fins; it is instantly self correcting so you just go like nothing happened. And for my 230 lbs of pushing power they better have some serious grip. Not sure about toping out at 35 knots. To me they are just as fast as any but with much better overall performance. I do agree that stiffer is better in some circumstances 😂😂😂
