Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Fun afternoon sailing with B1 & Freddo.  Just enough wind to get us up & going.  So good to get out on the water after recovering from a wretched virus which floored me for a week.

Followed B1 out initially, then followed some more and then more before turning around...  The man was on a mission- thought he was going to end up somewhere near Michaelmas Cay!!  Freddo then joined us- he sailed with his usual prowess.

Couldn't get any more out of the ol' Exocet board today as much as I tried...

Plenty of sea life present...  sailed past turtles, jumping fish and dolphins!!

B1 handed over some Severne OD sails from Toody's GI collection (big thanks to Toody!) a 6.2, 7 & 8.6.

Used Exocet 135 Severne OD 7.8 BP 47.5

Well, that made up for my woeful effort last Thursday at Green. Nice fun and relatively unexpected sail with B2 and Fred. 13-14 kts keeping the interest, certainly wasnt a great deal more. The wildlife out there today was sensational...turtles, dophins, looked like Yellow Tail Kingy's and heaps of bait fish leaping out of the water being chaed I assume by larger predators.

Only dropped 2 of my gybes today. Borrowed B2 wimp winch to get that last bit of down haul onto the OD, which made a huge difference to the way it felt. Really happy today. Fred was zinging in and out and B2 looked like a pig in mud today, couldnt keep the smile off his face.

Awesome afternoon on the Holloways Smooth. Used - "The Bludger", 7.8 OD R4, S10 47

Late start to the session this afternoon and thought I'd save a little time by setting up the usual 6.6 ....but was a little undone at times

Had a couple of good runs with Billy who appeared to be over the sulks and was sailing well. WinkHardly saw Benny all session as he goes out

a loooong way. He was over his flu and still continues to improve......Cool Congratulations on the pb Ben...well deserved.

Good hour Billy considering the wind , keep it mate good stuff.  Unexpected sail this afternoon but turned out to be a good one!!!

Sounds like a nice day all round. So, Billy, I see you used the wimp winch: who turned the handle for you then? Foot in mouthLaughing
