Toppie !

4th time on my foil board. Came on the spot late (ard 3pm) and everyone was going full speed, so rigged my 5.6 but when I was ready the wind was ready as well :-( Rigged my 7.0 as well, but even with that sail I didn't fly for more then 5sec. Rigged my 7.8 as well and waited in the cafetaria for more wind... When i finished my Karmeliet, the wind increased again so I went out on my 7.8. First time with 7.8 on the foil. It feels more stable then with 7.0 or 6.3 but it needs more 'effort' to lift (or less effort to keep the board down). Even in the gusts of 18kts, I never felt uncomfortable or overpowered (others were planing from time to time with 7.2-8.0 on normal boards).

Did some nice flying runs from one side to the other side of the (small) lake without touching the water.

Also improved my AVG, 10sec and max on the foil.

Next thing to learn is gybing... So nice to learn sth from scratch. Next please :-)

Toffe sessie op ZM. Windhoek was weliswaar vrij zuid, daarom direct naar de buitendammetjes vertrokken omdat die net iets beter georienteerd liggen dan de met deze windrichting nog meer vlagerige binnendammetjes. Opkruisen langs de buitendammen ging (meestal) nog net.

De terugweg was wel hell. Zo'n korte steile chop...nog niet dikwijls meegemaakt. Gelukkig waaide het hard genoeg zodat het dobberen achterwege bleef en 1 gijp volstond om terug bij de parking uit te komen.

Gezellige drukte en aftersurftalk, ik kan er weer ff tegen ;-)
