Windfoil, Foilville

Well that was one of the dumbest things ive done.

The 6.2 and big wing were a powerhouse in 13-19kn which got stupid so i figured the

5.5 and small wing were worth a go then it picked up to 17-26kn. Couldnt handle the power or chop.

For the non foilers i reckon the power would compare an 8.6, 135lt board and 50cm fin in 17-26kn

Tim was flying his drone around which was handling the wind well.

Didn't expect the mule to kick in so hard so only brought the big gear down. High surge and tide made for a very lumpy ride. Found it hard to send it over the moguls with the slightly overpowered sailWink but a great day out in glorious sunshine. Great Pinna turn-out with special mention to the Cannonball seen heading out with boardies and a rashie! Nice work Ben.

Perfect foil session, downwinding in a beautiful 15-20 knot warm N'erly.

The SurfWing is a little smoother and more predictable than the WS1 wing on the swells.

Modified the board with 10cm more nose rocker - works great when the nose drops riding a swell downwind.

Such amazing weather went wave-sailing late at Dutchies Laughing

Bit of fun sailing the moguls at Melville, quite a few out so trying to send it accross the chop was getting a bit dangerous playing dodge em, good turn out of Pinnas must have been the synshine that bought everyone out to play.

A choppy fun session and great to see many of the pinnas out today.  The award of bravery and optimism goes to Ben in his boardies! Manta 88 NP V8 6.2

Melville Beach, WA, AU Good to see so many Pinnas living up to their reputation of windsurfing instead of working :) Super stoked to get a sail in the sunshine. Water was bloody cold. Don't know how you did it in boardies Ben. 97 futura 6.6 koncept

A glorious sunny and warmish winter day. Wind kicked in the arvo with gusts in the high 20s. Pretty impressed by Jase who got back on the water after being MIA and getting 34 knots! A bit of a pinna party today.

6.2 reflex 91 mistral, 25 tribal weedy then 5m overdrive.

I packed the car for the forecast last night and had to head home to pick up some smaller gear before heading to the river. I rigged the smallest I had with me and set out with the wind around 23 knots, the tide high and the water very rough. The wind kept building. I was comfortable on the first run and the gear felt great, but it wasn't long before I was overpowered and in the large chop/waves I thought I had better stop before a catapult happened. The wind continued to build after I stopped, so I derigged, then the wind dropped precipitously, which would have been sad for those who arrived late, after work.

There was plenty of Pinnaroo participation in a particularly windy and warm August afternoon of sailing. It was lovely to catch up with many of you again.

I didn't sail far but I sure feel like I have had a workout!

Got to Melville at 4 and it was nuking.  Rigged the M112 + 7 TR9 + 33 CL SL2 and got on the water by 4:20.  I was mega lit for the first 15-20 minutes, then it faded Frown

Still nice to sail in warm sunny conditions for a change.

Grabbed the M137 + 38 fin for a few laps, but under-done with the 7, so I didn't plane very much on that combo either.

What a difference a bit of sun makes. Took some luck to get a decent parking spot. Good to se a lot of pinnas out enjoying some unseasonal sunshine and solid wind with a healthy dose of Melville chop.

Arrived to light wind and Grant spending lots of time not planing on a 6.6m sail. Tossed up whether to go 7.5 or 6.5 and decided 6.5m. THat was good for about 5 mins then I became very overpowered, and very wet after missing several jybes in the chop.

Got too cold to carry on and change down the sail size, but certainly got some excercise.

Great to see lots of Pinnas out enjoying the sunshine.

Have been having difficulty uploading from my GW 60 watch but have just cleaned the contacts and it has improved.

Good speeds for the conditions Boz and Jase, and Jase, that is an impressive alpha for the conditions and considering you haven't sailed in ages.

Big congratutes Jase, after wondering whether you should go out. Terrific result in both speed and alpha. It should be easy to talk you into trying out cold, gusty and lumpy conditions next time ...

Plentiful Pinnaroo participation and still at least one more to post!

Well done, team!
