Sandy Point, Vic, AU SSW 25-40kts, Gusty, cold and sand blowing off the dunes, though the sun was out all day. Ran the snow goggles to keep the sand out. Sailed with Pat Malone! Run very square so largest angle was port tack back towards the carpark. Got picked up by a huge gust while sailing square, was airborne for quite a way before crashing down for a swim back into the bank. The foiling feeling came to mind whilst airborne, as everything went silent for a moment. Carried an epirb in wetsuit in case of breakages, considering the large crowds down there. Isonic W54, Severne Mach1 5.5m, Techart WSL22.

Awesome speed Brad. Big balls doing that on your own out there. When I broke my boom I was on my own there and on the wrong side of the channel. I wasnt going that quick though! The epirb is a great idea.

Well done Brad. Your certainly going to be in form and enjoy it when the weather picks up. It doesn't get much harsher than sunday. Pity none of the other 29 members of pit crew couldn't help out.
