-20kts Sw - SSW Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU- level 0.29 6.6m KA Koncept- 87iso- 21.5cm FF

I just wanted to get a bit of gybe practise in today..

Worked up to deeper water near Peely and played.

Cripes it was cold! I put a rashie under my 5-4-3mm wettie plus used my warmer gloves( 3 full fingers) but my exposed fingers were freezing and I found it hard to hold the boom. That was without even getting wet above thigh deep..brrr. The footstraps were so stiff with cold I had trouble getting into them.. I don't think I'd sail much if lived further south..Kiss

I didn't feel comfortable today.. The 6.6m felt ginormous after sailing the small gear. I was actually quite powered up at times but didn't do any bearaways.

I seemed to have the knack of gybing, flipping the sail and being balanced on the bottom on the golfcourse side.. On the other side I'd plane into the gybe and as I flipped the speed would be cut by a big weedberg I went into.Undecided Every time!

I actually went for a nm..I knew it was a bit patchy but KA chose one with gybes in as usual..Undecided First time I've spunout the 21FF.. On my nm in the channel pretty powered up and I was too tired to pull it back in so the last 100m was sideways..Laughing

Pulled the plug as it was too cold to really enjoy and it seemed to be dying anyway,

Just Andrew & I and Rick and later Mick in the carpark.
