fangy (22667km): Blast on the Barge with the F(oil)-Troop boys, Sludge and Swindy. Glorious morning session. Post more later :-) With 13 degrees outside and 12-13 knots on the meter, it was lucky Teletubby One, Sludge, was keen to get try out his new rubber. But I am glad he did, because that was a fun morning session on a straight, cold Southerly breeze. Teletubby Two, Swindy, weaved his way onto the verge not long after we got there and eventually got his A into G and joined us on the water for a great fun little session. I got to try out my new Simmer Race 8.6, whacked on the Barge with a Swoody 22 (cutdown 28). I really liked the sail, lots of low down grunt to get me moving and super stable in the gusts. And anything that can get the Barge over 30 knots has done a good job regardless. It helped that someone left the plug out and the estuary water level was dropped to about 60 cms. Both weed banks were visible and provided some beautiful smooth. I am hoping that it is a good sign that the weed banks are visible already...fingers crossed. I will sort through some video to see if there is anything worthwhile...there isn't because the clamp slipped around to a weird angle, so sorry about any crooked necks and the battery was flat. A quick clip to show the water state on the first run of the day. Message to self, charge camera before heading out next time. Top Ten Fangy day with the Teletubbies
Still that shows the smooth water on the inside of the outer bank, just before the battery ran out...

SluGger (13722km): Coodanup, WA, AU Pat 115l tr16 7.0 fangy 24 sailed with Rog and Ross who both sailed on their two Simmers Ross going large with a shiny new 8.6m The sun was out the water was flat and a decent steady breeze, air and water was cold but I however was so warm in my new wetty it was toasty.. Had some awesome smooth runs over the weed, Happy days Oh Rog and I let Ross get the best speed of the day on his new sail.. | ||||||||||||||||||
Swindy (10125km): Coodanup, WA, AU Pat SL115, SIM 2XC 7.8, Swoody 26 After another wobbley drive down to Fangys Jespers twin brother and T1 had just arrived. I decided to let them rig and let my head clear for a while. Ross Orth went with the 8.6 with AUS-10 still on it. and T1 went with the 7. Both seemed to be going well so I plumped for the 7.8 twin cam that I got for foiling. After several attempts to get the harness lines set right I finaly got it dialed in and the sail was a pleasure to use. Turned out a real nice day on the water with cups of tea and chock chip cookies for smoko. My wife is sill on the floor laughing her arse off. |
