Lousy stats but that was the nicest sail i've had for ages!
Very unenthusing at home - 11 degrees and raining.. I couldn't get to sail until late. It was a tropical 17 degrees at Coal and sunny!
I should have rigged the 7m but played it safe as some of the gusts looked around 20kts . I got one or 2 puffs on the first run and that combo was lovely - really light and pleasantly powered up. The chop wasn't too bad once you got away from Coal.
It was starting to drop so after an hr or so I came and rigged the big kit... It had dropped further so I didn't get on the plane much but it was really flat for the lake..I pumped onto the plane in one 10kt gust and then stayed planing after it had gone for around 500ms in about 5 kts of wind! It felt amazing..
It was a lovely sunny afternoon. As much as I love Budgy it was so nice not to have to worry about depth , weedbergs, working hard upwind all the time and have the whole lake to play in!.
Just me , 1 large cat in the distance and that was it.. If only the lake was that quiet midsummer..
