It was a great day for lightweights and I enjoyed planing past people who are usually going much faster than I am. Apparently Pete was ranting about me passing him, which is strangely satisfying...
A very enjoyable sail, planing most of the time, better toward the end. It didn't even rain.
Great to catch up with Neil, Kenny, Boz, Tim and Bunyip.

Foil sess with Kenny and Vince, 10-15 knots.
Great to see Greg getting long glides on his first foil session - the big Slingshot wings are super-stable to learn on but also carve amazingly well when you crank them.

Foilville with Slingshot Team riders JJ, Gustenzo and Pointman. Foil Guru JJ showing us foil newbs how its done in the chop.Gustenzo getting some good flight time. Not bad for a 3rd go. Pointman on his maiden voyage also getting some flight time on the short mast. Well done mate.
Wind all over the place from 10 to 20 knots in the squalls. Was quite overpowered on the 6.2 with hardly any downhaul so could feel the power at the top of the sail in the gusts.

Abit of a float at the local. Really quite patchy for this kit but nice catch up with the team and even got to watch Boz go for a heli-wizzy something tack before taking a dunk.

First session on the foil today...Slingshot Hoverglide paired with the Patrik Formula board + 7.4 Koyote.
I went out with the little (40cm) training mast at first, which was fairly manageable and I got a few reasonable glides, but it kept breaching, so I decided to have a crack with the big 90 cm mast.
No problem getting her up in the air, but staying there with any semblance of control was another matter! I got a few OK runs in, but overall I felt like a bit of a kook
Late arvo, around 5:30, it picked up to 15-18K, and the set-up got too fiesty for me, so I went in and grabbed the M137 for a run. Unfortunately it dropped as I was heading back out, and then died completely around 6, and I slogged home in 5K.
So not a bad first-up sesh, but I feel like I've got a lot to learn.
