Day 1 of the NSW gps/slalom racing, got great NE conditions today and plenty of wind which built all day and ballistic at the end. Two half hour gps races with the course set right across the lake, I think 6km stretches so the legs were burning, and great this year to have the format where everyone starts together at the flag fall, and around a course of 2 bouys. Race two was full on as the wind really picked up during the 2nd half, very hard to keep control in the wind and water state. Then slalom race at the end in the more protected water within the weed bank, was keen to do it but the wind at the start line was sending through huge bullets, made an attempt to get to first mark but just way too over powered and no control at all so headed in. Loved the day and massive thanks to the Marmong team who organised everything. Dinner at the golf club tonight.
gps race 1 - 117/7.8/39, gps race 2 - 97/7.0/31, slalom 97/6.2
