Windfoil, Foilville

Nice arvo for a foil with some great folk and bonus Snides pop up bar.

Tried Darryls AFS foil finally, the only drawback was that it would only fit into my slalom board as my foil board box was too tight.

Must say that a foil specific, wider tailed board is a much better option for up wind ability and comfort on flat water like the river.

Anyhow the AFS compared to the NPF4? Clearly I'm used to the NPF4 and know it well but the AFS is slightly more stable, maybe due to the stiffer

fuselage & mast, the extra 100mm on the mast gave more confidence over the boat chop and im sure if i had the tail width it would crank up wind.

The front wing certainly has good lift, so much that when hitting a gust i could feel it wanting to elevate (it really did feel like being in a lift)

I would probably like a tad more downtilt in the rear stabliser to give it a slicker feel as i could feel the drag compared to what I'm used to.

Thanks for the loan Daz, sure is a privelage to try something different.

Sill love my NPF4 though so the minister for funds and recreation will be relieved.
