Sandy Point, Vic, AU

It blew a gale durning the night, so much that one of my large trees took out the gutter and rested its branches on my trailer. Luckily I had moved it forwards in peparation for today otherwise I wouldn't got out. Starting chainsaws at 11.30 pm is probably not great for the neighbors. Clean up tomorrow Wink

Started today at 6 am and the early bird got the worm Laughing with my secord run down the course. The rest were just too square and very hard work in the squally wind. Got lifted one minute and stalled the next all the way down making it very hit and miss.

Bailed out to Daffy's before high tide to return and chase a few 1 hrs in a lot less wind. A great hit out.......More please

Sandy Point. Vic.

What a day!

The forecasts promised and EPIC speed day, but unfortunately, they didnt deliver. The wind ended up 15-20 degrees too far South, making the course very tight in the extreme. Combine that with gusts 35-40Kts (and possible more briefly) there was very little chance to milk it's potential.

So for me, the early morning session was pretty much a write off. Only did two runs and it was clear to me I was not going any faster unless I took unacceptable risks into the chop.

The afternoon session was 20-25 knots, still SW, and perfect for me to try out the new Koncept Speed 5.7m sail ( if was sensational Tongue out) . The angle and equipment was spot on for just blasting up and down and I had a ball. A classic Sandy Point fun blasting day!

Good to get some of the PiT crew together again (+Kempsta) for good times. Laughing

Morning: CA40, Tribal speed 18, 2019 KA Koncept 4.7m speed. Arfternoon: IS87, Tribal weedspeed 27, 2019 KA Koncept 5.7m Speed.
