Consistent wind today..... cruisy to match the Xmas hols.

Started off with lessons for our newest team member "Conductor".

Please make her feel welcome and there are some good results to come...... just needs a little time on the water and the results will flow. Welcome Cool

Then the afternoon brought a few firsts.... A potential new team member, Drew, made the effort to join OMK for a spin out on the bay. he did really really well on his gear and has huge potential! Looking forward to seeing what he can do Smile

And then at top speed on a bare off over the sand bar, I hit something.....grinding halt, snapped a harness line, knocked off my Santa hat Surprised and made me sit up and wonder, what the!!!!! The sand bar is 1.5m deep so not the fin connecting with Davie Jones's locker.  Shark maybe (Stretchies favourite), hopefully not a dolphin, potentially a left over semi submerged schoolie, who knows.....

Anyways, a cool sail with friends.

SB US147 Drake Race 58 NP Hornet 8.2

Out with Steve Chris New Drew and missed 'The Conductor' who had a session in the morning, well done! And some unnamed floaty things.

Chris brought Drew out for the session on a 6.1 wave sail and a pristine BIC slalom board. I didnt see him flying but looks like the LackyMan replacement! We secretly strapped a GPS on him saying it was for his safety should he get lost out there amongst the rat bags on jet skis. Its chrissy you know!

We all had a nice session with only 2 accidents but no damage to fins (on boards) Steve and Chris hit something in the water at full tilt resulting in spectacular forwards into the drink. Not sure what it was other than big and probabley sore too.

I enjoyed being powered up most of the time with the 8.2 and a few runs real tight up & then deep down wind. The wind didnt really fill in and didnt last that long either. Just enough to keep us going over the next windless week.
