Sailed at Holloways with Benny. Wind was very hit and miss withthe rain/clouds around.

First run out and back was quite good but struggled to get going on the second out ward leg

and hard dropped off the plane 3-4 times coming back in......gave it a miss for a while then tried

again.....good run out but struggled getting back. I am not sure where the Cairns observations

were taken from or who took them but certainly nothing like what was on the water.

Benny on the other hand did not seem to mind the conditions and had a great time.....looked the goods.

Good stuff Benny.

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Fun little arvo sesh with Freddo...  Very light on arrival around 2pm- watched and waited for a bit before deciding to rig up when some squalls started coming through.  Very patchy with a lot of South in the wind.  Rough as guts water conditions (high tide) made for some butt clenching moments- followed Freddo around a bit enabling me to notice he was doing it just as tough as I was encountering some of the swell on the way out.

Realised I had left my wedding ring on after the first couple of runs- not wanting to tackle the waves breaking on shore, I decided to firmly secure it to some rope on the boom and get on with sailing.  I can now say (with relief) the ring made it home safely...

Had a pearler of a stack at speed on a run back to shore- you know its a good'n when the watch gives one of those false readings...  Thankfully no damage done.

Used Futura 122 Severne OD 7.8 BP Sabre 42.5

Again, just nice to get out on the water for a bit of a blast!  Big thanks for the company and derig chat Freddo!! Cool  Bigger OD sail might have been in my favour today...

Hope the rain clears up in Cairns, looks like epic conditions for Green Island on Monday/Tuesday if the forecast holds.

Certainly does Dave!  Wind was howling whilst I was hard at work today...  Rain is starting to set in again tonight, damn it!  Saw a fair bit of flushed out debris floating around in the water yesterday whilst sailing off the beach- good idea to keep an eye out for anyone sailing in this neck of the woods over the next few days...
