Peel Inlet, WA, AU

A quick sail at Liptons. Quicker than planned as a footstrap screw pulled out in a jibe and I went through the bottom panel of my 7.3.  Felt like it was over before it started but it was nice to get wet and back at Liptons.  Power was just nice on the 7.3 and I was looking forward to and hour or so of good fun... At least is was on the inside jibe and I only had a very short walk home and no injuries.

First of all, appologies to local Novara residence, the attending news services and all others affected by the 0.5m Tsunami which greatly afected the Western Foreshore of the Madurah Estuary, reports of a red fury meteorite impacting 1km out from shore may have been slightly exagerated.

Other than that, BEST SESSION EVERCoolCoolCoolCoolCoolCool

On way home from shops checked the local haunts and saw Novara had way more wind, Stropp changed his mind from SS as a better option for Adam who came down from the big smoke to play.

At Novara, measured wind up to 19.8knots with an average of 16.8K, now normaly around the 14 knot mark I'm making sure I've fitted a fresh Depend's as the brown is sure to flow, Stropp feeling cocksure from his ocean efforts goes rig a wave sail, so I did I rigged my 5m which I bought around 8 years ago and have never used since.

After some inititial trials and tribulations trying to figure out how to pump such a small sail, I got my first flight and about 30seconds later I caught my first bug on my teeth, it was awesome fun, the 5m at times was a touch overpowered, but it was very user friendly.

The only issue I had with the setup was the 28" harness lines which had me way to close to the boom  which made it hard to lean out from the sail.

The Elmo sized dent (winter weight sized Elmo dent) was done baring off leaning out of the board as per Darrys advise was going great guns flying along at a nice lick of pace when I breached and nosedived from 900mm up, strangely enough I didn't notice the rib tickler till a run or two later.

It was awesome fun out there with Stropp and Adam just playing out in the middle, looking at the conditions it would have been a ripper session on the slapper as as there was plenty of wind and bugger all chop out there.

Good times, one happy little Muppet (well maybe not that little till I can burn of the winter weight).

Another day at Fangys with just Peter, Nina and Me for a while, Bugs cam out as we were heading back, totally under done. Jake and Johnski arrived as we derigged.

I was getting 20kt gusts when we arrived, so went with the 53cm board, 6.2 koncept and 20cm@55deg

Had a few nice runs, but something was wrong today, both Nina and Peter were flying past me in the lulls, tried letting a bit of downhaul off, seemed to give me a bit more power, but also made the sail heavier and harder to get up wind. Maybe the 20cm fin was a tad small when underpowered?

It’s all that Christmas food I’ve been eating I wasn’t even fully powered on the 8.5 I would of come for a foil but didn’t get on the water until 5:30 so assumed I would be out on my own.
