Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

A fun but very unexpected session at the local mud pit with B2. Sensational first sail for 2019 in 15 kts and apart from breaking 2 battens in the dumpy shore break I walked away chuffed as. Freddo graced us with his prescence on the beach and was an absolute pleasure catching up with him after the sailing was completed.

B2 sailed his pants off today and I had a smile from ear to ear after his attempt at a couple of decent lay down gybes...would have been sensational if they were completed. Awefully big splashdowns were the common theme but dont let that distract from the effort.

Got to say, there was plenty of wildlife in the water today as well as a few logs and crap washed out in the recent rains still floating around out wide. Definately a Top 10 day.

Used: "The Tank" - AHD Diamond 140, 8.6 LOft RB, Select 48.

Fun little arvo sail with B1 at the local slosh ghetto...  Light ESE/SE primarily 15kn breeze with the occasional lulls...  Beautiful sunny skies ~ water state was no where near as rough as what it has been in the past week or so. Laughing

Had some nice cruisy runs with a few little opportunities to wind up, but couldn't manage to really light it up...  A little bit more practice with the jibes- hopefully they're not too far away...  Fingers & toes crossed I'll be able to master turning the corner this year (no pun intended).

B1 looked like a "kid in a candy shop" enjoying lapping up some sailing k's after his Christmas holiday getaway...  that pud will be gone in no time I reckon! Wink

Caught up with Freddo for a nice gas bag when derigging- many thanks for the back up GPS!

Pretty happy with the NM today in the conditions! Cool

Used Futura 122 Severne OD 7.8 BP Sabre 42.5

B2 - The NM King today. Superb mate. Kam - I know right, my excuse to. Reckon I put on more pud than was eaten and it was a real struggle out there at times today with the lack of fitness. Nice close numbers across all divisions and only a few k’s difference between sailing locations.

Good numbers guys.....all very nice and cosy...and close!!    Benny nice effort on the 7.8 and the Futura.......think we'll all have to get one!!

'futura' that is.Cool

Good to catch up with you guys after your sail and see the smiles on your dials.Laughing    Both looked good out there pushing each on.

Billy with your light black and dark black gear certailnly looked 'dangerous' and the numbers confirmed it..... good man.

The water was certailnly 'dirty' out for a long way but you guys went way out into the blue stuff....lucky you had gps's.

By the way.... it was only me that came out to say giday.....your write ups made me feel like I was pretty important......well I suppose I'm

the closest thing to royality you guys have got.Undecided
