Holloways with Benny,Billy and Kel. I thought the seas were a little rough and the wind had some holes in it.....but

was good to get out with the boys and have a blast.

Days like today do not come around to often at this time of year up here in FNQ, so whats a man supposed to do......Book flights and accomodation to Melbourne for the Wifey's Birthday in August, earn the browny points and then go sailing. My job here is done. Good job Billy Wink.

Looks like we missed the best of it early in the arvo, but what was left provided us a nice session at the local wallow pit. Out with Freddo, B2 and El Captitano. Super happy with that session, gybing is coming along nicely - cant wait to get involved in the Nationals this year and apart from the blubbers (some the size of 44 Gallon drum lids Surprised, hit one which pulled me up on a 20c piece and lodged half way into it. Couldnt shake it so I had to dismount and remove manually) and plenty of timber in the water from recent rains it was a fum session.

Nothing special but great to get out for my first sail for 2019.  Isonic 133 and North S Type 7.8,  a bit chubby having put on about 7-8 kgs on our epic trek through 120000 kms of Australiana - too many bakeries and too many counter meals washed down with a cleansing ale.  Had a full body 1mm suit and began to overheat towards the end.  Like riding a bike =- no trips over the front and mostly finding my feet into the straps - of course lacking condition.  Tuesday arfternoon is looking promising.  Glad to hear that some of the other boys got into it at Cairns.  Ed bailed.... something to do with Secret Women's Business.  I know he'll be pissed off when he reads this.

First reasonable sail for the year and first go on my new Isonic 72, was a little worried about the 118L volume in the lumpy/choppy stuff but it handled it with ease!

Used 2019 Isonic 72, Overdrive R8 7.0 and Drake 36DWCool

Fun little arvo sesh with B1, Freddo & Capt'n Kel!  Weather looked a little dubious earlier on today, however, wind kicked in a bit after midday which was enough to get us locals motivated to get together for a blast in the mud pit.  Freddo was most keen being the first out on the water!  And B1 still had his sense of humour after I blatted past him while his fin was stuck on some blubber! (Nice NM in the conditions B1!!) Laughing  Capt'n Kel, as expected, blasted around effortlessly on his new Isonic. Cool

Seas were a bit rough... Wind ended up being ok- a few holes here & there.  Probably missed the best wind by the time I fluffed around with the sail when rigging up.  Lots of debris in the water- logs, a car tyre & a pretty damn big sea animal which almost gave me smelly shorts! Surprised  Noticed a few jelly's as well...

Really should have made the effort to adjust the back foot straps on the board as they felt a bit loose- resulted in a lack of confidence when the few opportunities were there to dial in & press the pedal...

Got caught at the end of the sesh when the wind suddenly dropped right out...  Ended up having to uphaul & dredge back to the beach with a little walk of shame!  Yell

All in all, still a fun little session with good company for this time of year. Cool

Also nice to read Andrew got out for a sail in Latte land after returning from his road trip around Australia!

Well that was a pleasant surprise. 15 forecast and ended up with a solid 20. Nice afternoon in the mouth of the river, wind direction not ideal but who cares.

Nice one guys glad everyone got out on the water today and had a session 👍. I had to take time out and spend it with the good wife and daughter. If I didn’t my day would of ended badly. 😩🦊.

What a turn out at this time of the year. There was some pretty close numbers in that lot. Looks like Kam hit the water at the right time and got the best of it locally. Andrew, nice to see you back from your incredible journey around this wide brown land of ours. Fred, it looks like we were holding hands again. Incredibly close !!! B2, another session to put in the annuals of life mate - well done. Richo, sensational little session at the river mouth. Incredible.

Good to see the north getting some out of season wind and most of the crew taking advantage of it.

Richo, i think your area has been the place to be so far this year. You have managed to get a few good sessions in.
