Windfoil, Foilville

Very well powered on the 7.8 and big wing with a 15kn average breeze

Lost a pair of sunnies and had a near miss with a clown in a boat while on starboard tack in the usual hazardous spot off Peli pt.

The Boat was in the blind spot of my sail so i didnt see but you'd think one of the 4 in that boat would see whats going on, maybe the skipper?

The usual weekend warrior reaction for him was to accelerate and cut in front of me, awesome thing to do with only 10m to spare.

Hmm another wild moment with some loud expletives directed their way.

I usually feel a bit like a Meercat looking around for traffic but i was off my guard this time. Be careful out there people.

Still had a great session though.

NIce fun out at the local, got the foot straps on the board today and starting to feel a little more in control. The large wing certainly gives the lift required to get going early. Gybes are still a long way off

NP Large wing; 5.7

Melville Beach, WA, AU iS111, 40 CF, 7m Koncept. 8 - 14 kn on the beach, quite a bit more out in the middle, in gusts.

Testing different downhaul settings for the 7m today. What a difference a couple of cm makes!

An OK session since it didn't look like we would get any seabreeze today at all.

Warmth, sunshine, enough wind to plane most of the time... didn't get hit by any boats.

Good to catch up with Boz, and with Andrew who was having a rollercoaster ride on his foil

Real bugger about what happend to Neil today. Hoping he has a quick recovery from the sugery to repair his busted femur. Looking forward to seeing back on the water again soon.

PS. Watch out for the stink boats on the Swan, sign the petition if you can about slowing the speed limit in the channels off Pelican point.

After Lunny's near miss, very sadly I understand Neil got run down by a boat this arvo on the Swan. I believe he has serious leg injuries and is in RPH and having surgery tonight, but if anyone knows more please let me know.

Piecing together the bits of information that have come in

Neil was hit by a boat this afternoon and has broken either his patella or femur or both and is in hospital to have surgery tonight.

His sail and broken board (without Neil) were found by another boatie and were reported to water police.

Water police brought the gear to Pelican Point and JJ and Neil's son have recovered it and driven his vehicle home.

Neil's relatives are with him at the hospital.

Neil was the one who reported Petermac's similar incident to us only a couple of months ago, and was encouraging us all to be very vigilant around boats. It is hard to believe this has happened to him.

Neil, we wish you a full and speedy recovery.

Be very vigilant around boating channels everyone!
