Lake George, SA, AU  Great Day on the Lake -wasnt easy though. The wind was super strong overnight with some heavy falls buffetting the motel unit .

I slept in as the temp had really cooled down & I was a little fearful of what the day held -I dont often get to sail in 30-40 knot winds & wasnt sure if I'd be alone sailing on the lake . Drove to the spit & was greeted with super strong bullety wind /rain & what looked like big patches of flat shallow water .

Rigged the Iso 80 Tribal delta 16 EVo 7 5.8 & the JP speed Tribal superweed 21 & RSS 5m2 .

First run on the Iso was a 39.98 peak ,second 40.54 ,third 41.5 then it was a battle to go any faster .

Switched to the speed board & 5m2 sail & was more comfortable but needed the 5.8 to get decent speed .

Weedbeds got shallower as the day progressed so finally got to try the Tribal delta 14 in the Jp speed-wow amazing !! Managed a 41.9 on this with the 2nd GPS unit showing a 47.19 LaughingSurprised

Chris Dimond ,Leon & JimBob were sailing upwind today but like the last time here ,the best wind/water were just upwind from the middle spit area off the 2nd island .

Some 40 knot gusts came through along with driving rain so unfortunately unsailable ...

Great fun & lots of lessons learned .

Slowie -your speed deltas are incredible -they just rocked today in the super shallow weed beds ...CoolSmile

Are there plans for a McLeod Street medical in Beachport Cam.....could be worth your while Wink  Fantastic speeds mate and if it was too much for you  then I don't know of many who would have sailed the wild stuff.

BTW -how you didn't get any jellies for that session beats me?!

Fantastic session Cam. I wish I could have joined you there. Undecided

The second GPS post on KA72 is very interesting. Please leave it public so people can have a look and see how even a GT-11 can give a different result. I am pretty certain it is incorrect, but it would be very had to say that if you did not have the data from the other GPS. Another very good reason to wear at least 2 GPS in a good session. I have the brains trust working on seeing if we can explain it.Smile

The fast GPS shows linear accelerations of 2.0, 2.6 and 1.4m/sec2 while at peak speed, so it looks to have lost the sailor.

The other shows accels in the range of 0.3-0.7 for the same run. More realistic.

The date/time stamps are completely different for the two GPS units.

GPSAR.

The time stamps are correct in Realspeed, which can work out the local GMT time zone.

max accel. filters on most programs for 1Hz are set@ 4M/s2. It's not unusual to see legitimate accel. in the range of this file.

That is one of the many reason why, without a second GPS, this would be very hard to verify as an error.

The suspect file is actually from a GT-11, one of the FW versions, probably a later one, that produced SBN data, but no SDoP.

Oh, GT11 Vs GT31. From my experience that makes the differences more understandable.

Appreciate the feedback guys -many thanks Daffy for taking a serious look at the DATA on the second Gps unit for me ...

Chris Dimond-always good to catch up at LG-felt relieved when you guys turned up -always good to have company even though we were sailing a couple of hundred meters apart ...

I had my i phone in a waterproof case in my water proof back pack in case of dramas -it got water logged & had to be replaced so wasnt my Day technology wise ...Sealed

Looks like 2 more forecasts are developing ...!!!
