Christchurch Estuary, NZ.  JP120L, 40 Tlab fin.  Started on Simmer 6.9 sail but mast snapped on the second run.  Switched to Naish Indy 6.4 sail and had a comfortable sail.  Ran out of water as small tide and fin kept getting tangled in the rotten, stinking weed so gave up in the end and left Pete racing up and down the channel on his own.

Christchurch Estuary. ..A comedy of errors for me today. Starting with poor preflight checks - had walked 50 metres out into the water with my rig before realising a camber inducer was not sitting on the mast and so I had to go back in and re-rig the sail. And in overthinking that situation switched my watch off - to save the battery - then forgot to switch it back on again. Then sailed 21kms before I noticed my watch was still off - Since I had left my second non Doppler GPS switched on during the sail fiasco I know I actually sailed 48kms. ..Anyway thats why I stayed out so long Miranda with the tide getting pretty low.

I also cocked up two gybes big time. Gave my self a big bump on the head and lost my best pair of sun glasses in one of them. And then misjudged where I was in the channel in another and gybed into shallow water, ran aground and graunched yet another fin. Both these instances resulted in complete immersion of self despite the shallow water, and later at home in the shower found numerous pieces of sea lettuce rinsing out of my hair - first time that's happened to me.

Also went over the nose of my board doing about 0.5 of a knot and put a hole in the nose of my favourite board with my harness hook, that was irritating?

Still overall I had fun Laughing ..still got that great sense of well being going on that only windsurfing can provide.
