Much more fun than yesterday's skunking. love how well this combo goes in the rough stuff although last run in I heard a crack and think the fin box needs some attention....I'm not going to give this board up easily ;-)

Tide and wind direction was perfect for the northern. Unfortunately apart from a couple of little squalls the wind didn't really happen.

Nice little arvo sail with Freddo at the local mud pit. Said g'day to Tony the "Truckie" who had just come in on arrival- Tony saved the day after picking up my mast extension which I left behind last weekend, unbeknowns to me until he mentioned it- thought all along it was in the kit box. Big thanks Tony!! Felt super lucky!
Freddo sailed really well with only a 6.6m sail! The wind dropped off quite a lot from the time of arrival to getting out on the water- I had 2m more sail than Freddo and still found it a bit underdone at times.
Still nice to get out on the water with some blue sky- yessss, hard to believe... no rain!!! Even had a fish jumping trying to high five me- little bugger nearly slapped me fair in the face!
More practice on the gybes, arghhhh...
Hope the lads up in latte land got some good sailing in... I have received a couple of texts with very sad face emojis from Billy- poor bugger smashed his Carbon art fin box after hitting not just 1 but 2 turtles... so sorry to hear B1 hopefully the damage is repairable...
Looks like everyone else snuck in some nice sessions today!

1805 days ago Port Douglas, QLD, AU Yer a quick sail with with Ian and Billy..started badly and ended badly..Was a nice breeze blowing after lunch was keen to do battle with the boys..rigged no cam 7m and got fox ready for a blast..wind totaly dropped out so rigged 7.8m gastra and sailed of over the horizon in search of wind finaly found some and game blasting back to shore Ian and Billy headed out looking for some action..I pulled up to grank on some more down haul on big rig, then down haul rope snapped so had a long walk up the beach to get another one was kind of pissed off by now..Finaly sorted all my shit out and went for a blast, decided to track Billy down and have a few runs with him as he was on go fast gear and looking good..He took me way down wind and out of my comfort zone think he managed some good numbers, the Fox was always with him ,was a bit over powered on big rig but Fox was still happy.. Didn't get any good numbers was carring to much fin which is what i usually do any way..The boys packed up a bit early Ian was worn out after getting' man of the match' Blly kept hitting turtles and trashed his board..i was keen to go hard till sundown to clock up a few kms, but hit some thing in the water fully lit up and had the 'FUKING CRASH FROM HELL'..Split my head open and really hurt my neck not a good look..Have to see how bad it is in the morning when the alachol and drugs where off..Not happy Ed..

Finally found a decent wifi connection....Day of Firsts yesterday. Rocked up yesterday and Ed was smiling, that’s a first. What occurred at the end of the session I couldn’t foresee, therefore I shall not be held accountable. First time I’ve hit a Turtle. WOW, they stop you dead in the water. And WOW, they destroy fin boxes (Firie, I will read your email tomorrow mate when I get home, thank you), and, last but by no means least, First time Ive hit Two Turtles in a session. So, in effect, what was left of my fin box, came out in large chunks......So Sad :(
Any ways, off to escort the bride to the markets and see what the day brings.

1804 days ago Port Douglas, QLD, AU, Somehow I managed to miss all the turtles that Billy and ED found floating just below the surface. At 2 Pm the wind was pumping so I rigged a 6M Aerotec on the Futura 90 with a Tribal WS 26. by the time I got on the beach the wind had disappeared and the tide had gone out a couple miles. So Billy and I chatted for half an hour before deciding to head out and wait the wind to come Back in. And it did. The Furura was on fire and comfortable. The combination of the 6M sail and the 26 fin was perfect for my weight and the 18- 20 knots.
Ed I hope your neck is not too stiff this morning. Billy great speed for the conditions, I hope you can repair the hole in the back of your fin box without too much trouble.
