Melville Beach, WA, AU

Gusty NE on the river - made it to Peli Point and the wind switched off. Really nice conditions though for this time of year.

Big turnout of Pinnas at Boombas expecting some epic conditions but alas did not happen, seemed windier at Melville, some nice little runs but no where near expected breeze forcasted from BOM. Good to catch up with the Pinna Hoard and the Mobsters who decided to show up.

First time at Boombas. A bit light today but can see the potential for when it's howling!

Was on 64 Windtech with 24cm FF and 7.8m Loft Racing Blade.

Left home around 9am and couldnt decide whether to go to Boombas or stay local. Had a look at Melville, wind looked good but was off shore so went for a trip south.

Arrived at Boombas around 1030 to meet the always optimistic Mr efficiency Bozium who said the wind was good. Went out there and grovelled around pushing water around and wishing I was foiling.

Still was good to meet up with the Pinnas and a couple of the Mob.

Whoah that was the best most favourite worst Boombas trip yetEmbarassed

I think the forecast was a bit off. Most of us got skunked.

Some great company and sunshine though which made it greatSmile

It was a beautiful morning for a drive to Boombas, and everyone came to the party except the wind. The wind was predicted to peak at 11 am, but instead it peaked at 10 and then declined. 10 was when I hit the water. Unfortunately I had rigged for the forecast and not for the current conditions, and was underpowered most of the time. Still, it was sunny, it was not cold and there was plenty of good company - Craig, Mark, Boz, Ken, Tim, Daniel, Ross, Mike and Matt Langer who came and saw and left without sailing. It was good to see you all again, guys!

I also had a bit of fun with my ducks who joined me for a day trip to the Austin Bay Nature Reserve. If you are wondering what that is all about, this video might give you a bit of an idea (and it is very funny too). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5d8pVg3Qtg

My daughter gave me some ducks for Mothers day and she and I are trying to out do each other with duck placements.

Here is my rather unusual track for today:

Kiters Beach Point Walter

Lucked out with the windy hour - perfect NE 20-27 knots. Def one of my favourite river sessions.

Light wind foiling is awesome - foiling in strong winds is next level fun Smile
