Fun in the all to rare sun with B2. Warm down run after yesterdays epic day on the island for B2. Me, it was all about the fun. the serenity and the single bloody mindedness to try out my WT72. After an early morning patch on the fin box, sand and clean up, she was ready to go. Looked alright on arrival, but again, I shoulda (rigged the 8.6), coulda (cause I did bring it), and dredged out to the wind line....took forever today. I was about a km behind B2, saw him finally hit and had a private little "thank F#@K, it is out here" and started to join the party.
Still working on the fine tuning aspects of the WT72, it felt very nose high today even when the mast base was a cm from the rear. Think I might need to adjust the foot sraps slightly forward. Any ways, thats for next weekend. Missed the extra horse power (8.6) at times. B2 flew past me just as I was getting bogged down in a lull, but as we hit the beach at 330, the breeze built alll the way to the beach into a very solid 15 kts. Definatly not was forecast, that for sure.
Used: WT72, 7.8 R4 OD, 467 BPR......Boardies and a rashie, just cause I have sensative skin .

Great little warm down sesh at the local mud pit with B1 tuning in his new Windtech board.
Had to dredge out a bit to find the wind line, but once there we both had a bit of fun in the sun! Sailed in close quarters for a few runs- King Bill's new board looked pretty nice blasting in, out and throughout the swell. Quite an interesting concept with the little moveable tail on the Windtech...
Made the silly error in coming too far back in to shore on the first run to once again have to dredge a little bit back out to get up and going again. The ol' suspension pins were inactive today after yesterday's GI mission- U turns were pretty much non existent.
Still all good fun sailing in the Far North winter in boardies! Windline came right in to the shore as we were derigging, but I think we were both happy enough to call it a day at that point.
2 more days of work until holidays, yippee! - might get some more time on the water before heading off to Mexico on the weekend.
Used "Big Woody" Futura 124, Severne OD R4 8.6, Venom 48

1763 days ago Green Island FNQ. Wind 18-22 knots Gear JP 60 Evo 10 7m2 Tribal delta 18 .Neap tides.
Another beautiful day on the island.Wind was lighter than yesterday & water shallower... Lots of fin on bottom today so at times nerve racking -especially on the NM runs .Carried sand paper in my boardies pocket -lots of sanding in between runs ...
Loving the new JP-really great all rounder with superb gybing feel & the Evo 10 is a beautiful sail -light & powerful ...
The Tribal delta really does open up the reef flats for longer periods but there is a fine line ...
2 more knots of wind & it would have been alpha heaven ...
