Choco (14530km): Nice warm winter day, easy cruising on the big board Lake Bonney
hoppybogan (25813km): Stansbury, SA, AU North 20-30 gusty Exo 90, NP 5.4, 24 weedy Great to sail with Carl and Sam today. Drank some pre-sail lube and headed out for a tester. The razors were a problem as they are up high and hard and the tide was a bit too low for the fins and plenty of damage to them. Carl was smoking on the chops and Sam was looking for his groove. It was probably 20-25 early in the session but soon built to 20-30+. It's a bummer waiting for the slow tide to come in to get in on the smooth and there was plenty of fin dragging. Still, fully powered up was fun, a good workout. Hope Carls ribs are not broken. A great Bogan day! Cheers

Retired Bogan (6747km): First time out for 4 or 5 months. Really nice day but I usually hate northerlies but today was slightly to the east and not as gusty had some good runs over near Boggy 2 until on the last run it dropped out and had to glug back. Surprised that only Jacko and I turned up. 13-18k NE 6.5 Ezzy Cheetah on 90l freestyle wave, was very comfortable in the gusts. Getting old looking for comfort over speed
Unknown Location Bogan (10834km): North Haven, SA, AU: Oooww, just shy of 29. Good session at Haven. The docks were choc'as with big ships (which effected the wind). Lots of kiters on the water I had to dodge. I missed out on a few good speed runs because of strings, but all good though :). Worked the inside speed strip in the first half of the session, then out the back speed strip (near the wall) for the 2nd when it switched on. Very little swell. It was choppy on the inside, but sailing inbetween the chop, I could get good speed. Out the back near the wall was almost as good as Stans. Happy with the numbers. The JP Supersport I can't push above 30, even under perfect conditions. If I had my Patrik board, I would've gone 30 easy. Gybing in the inside was choppy, but the chop was soft, unlike Boggy's brain jarring go airborne and then stack it chop. Lots of nice plane away exit gybes on the inside. JP SS 109, Cheetah 5.5, 26 MUF slalom/weed. About 6 sailors out and lots of kiters. https://www.ka72.com/Track/t/396610

Jimbob (26496km): LG BIG lake from the spit, N 14 to 18 maybe 20 at times. F2 stoke 117, 30 select weedy, 5.8 KA Koncept, Well I nornally I don't worry about sailing in winter but it was like 16 and full sunshine. Duh my watch battery was flat so missed the first couple hours while it was charging, on the water at 11 and first session had a look around the middle lake first up to check things out and then 2nd session on the big lake, finally had gps on 1.30pm and was running a really sweet bank on the big lake out from the end of the spit and behind the islands where there was a weed line along the edge of the deep water. 2 to 3 foot chop just feet upwind of me running in super flat water, (way flatter than last week) could never get fully lit up and was always thinking I should go in and change up then it would tease me enough to keep on the 5.8. actually could have run a pointer along his bank today (it reminded me off the old days in the 90's) my old favourite 2011 5.8 koncept is nearly dead won't see the summer

Captain skip bogan (50090km): Stansbury - 20 to 30 with some stronger gusts. Day roadie with Sam and Hoppy - always seem to have some sort of adventure . Awake at 4am and Sam arrived at 4.50. On the road pretty quick and a quick pie on the way (cheers Sam). Got there at 7.45 and already some wind. Hoppy came shortly after and a quick port and some strategy we rigged. The tide meanwhile was dropping and the wind increasing. Hoppy did the usual checks and came back for an update suggesting tide was going low and razor fish are bad. We headed high and got into the speed zone. It didn't take long to find the razor fish and not long to make Sam and my fins look pretty average. Early on had a 39.6 on the screen and not long after got a 40.4 - yeehar. The water not flat so happy with result and 2nd 40 day in 2 weeks. Advised Sam to follow me on the speed run and this is when it all happened. Went high into the shallows and felt real good on a deep downwinder and suddenly - BANG!! Closed my eyes and heard my body smash through the sail and got up to find a sail folded in 2 with a broken mast and on final inspection a mark on the deck of my beloved 87 - DAMN that hurt but saw a 40.6 on the sceen with a 39.34 10 second run. Body still in 1 piece but very sore rib and lh knee. Worse thing was the 1 hour walk in the weedy boggy shallows and watching Sam fly by. Cheers Hoppy for helping me get back to shore and Sam and Hoppy for helping me back to the cars. All in all alot fun even though i need a new sail and mast combo - the fun of speed sailing i guess - been lucky over the last 30 years windsurfing. Went back to Hoppy's for a coffee and cake - cheers bud and a look around his interesting house. Stopped in the way home to collect charger from Tricky and he gave me a roadie beer for my birthday - cheers Tricky. Not looking forward to waking up tomorrow up with the pain - even hurts to type this. Patrik 87 / 5.6m gun sails GSR (R.I.P) / Vector 25 weed speed.
