Wind hit as I was driving down and everything looked promising. But arrived at Peel st to zero wind. Bruce arrived a few minutes later and with him came 15 kts or so. Rigged up and went out, but it was patchy and very painful on a 70 litre board. Bruce wasn't doing any better as he had "done a Sue" and mistakenly bought the correct board bag with the wrong board in it.
Eventually the wind delivered big time. Crazy strong and gusty. No hope of any real control and no flat water to be found. Took me a long time to get over 35.

A warm westerly, who would have thought. A bit crowded though, I thought Andrew could have parked a bit better to allow more room for all the others who didn't come; equally crowded on the water, but I kept a good lookout whilst standing waiting for a lull big enough to let me get going. Wind was a tad gusty, the weed not too bad. Couldn't bear away as My personal parts too small. At least it was rough, you don't want to be comfortable while struggling to stay upright. All in all, better than being dead... I think.
Forgot to mention taking 100 litre board when I thought it was the 90 which I thought I had packed instead of the 80 I intended to pack and the downhaul insufficiency and the wrong sail and fin. Friday should be better, stronger!
