1708 days ago 2 categories Leschenault, WA, AU. CA SP52/KAR5.5. Pretty short sesh today, was strong wind and well powered up. Was just getting settled, heading across the chop getting ready for a bearaway on the other side when suddenly I was in the water, cant feel my face and wondering what happened . Oops blood too. I guess I copped the mast in my face after a kickback from chop+gust. That was the end of it for me, finished my run (got the 38) then back to the car to pack up. My wife is a nurse, which is good in one way, but also bad in that she is very bossy! Pity, would have been a good sesh if I had got up to Buffalo Rd, definitely 40s on offer

1708 days ago Yunbas with Cap'n Cojones. The next time you see Decrepit post on SB that fat = fast, ignore him. Skill and a big serve of cojones wins every time…
I got to Boombas mid morning and was surprised to find it deserted, not a Pesky in sight. I wasn’t going to head out alone, so a quick confab on the phone with the Cap’n resulted in a change to Yunderup. When I got there the water looked fab and flat. I whacked up the Koncept 6.6, and plugged in a FF22 on the Windtech 64.
I headed out and down onto the flat stuff only to find it was a terrifying nightmare of weedbergs. After a few runs trying to find a safer run through the bergs I gave up before I did myself some damage and headed out into the chop. The breeze kept building and pretty soon I was struggling to hold onto the sail. I went to have a gander at the spoil island next to the channel to see if some flat water was to be had. Alas, the charging tide overwhelmed any chance of a bargearse happy place.
The Cap’n joined in the lumpy goodness and I reckon we kept our inner Elmo’s well satisfied with a fairly hectic session of chop.I went all out over cooked spaghetti floppy on the tail settings of the board and was enjoying myself, but having too much canvas flying was taking its toll. It was at this stage that I got absolutely toasted by the Cap’n. He went past me so fast I just stopped, sat in the water, and cried a little…With my life now over, I packed up and went home.
After such a long dry spell it was sensational to get wet and have a blast.Top Ten Fangy crash and bash. Now just crossing my fingers that the forecast for tomorrow holds.

1708 days ago Not the best sail I've ever had, but it's the only sail I've had for 3 weeks!!!
Joined Fangy, at yunbas just before lunch, he was rigged and almost ready. Wind was inderterminate, but forecast to get strong.
Set up the 53 with 20cm@55 and also the 48 with the 19cm@55. Then rigged the 5.4 while eating lunch. Wind seemed to be dropping off so started to rig the 6.2 as well, hadn't got far into that exercise when wind started to pick up again. Unsure what to do, i though the best idea would be to go for a test run with the 5.4 in the 53. Waded out to the wind line, and was very glad I'd put the 6.2 back in the wagon. Well powered I went looking for some flat water, found some reasanble stuff, but there were lots of birds standing on the water, and I felt a very significant tug. So I went to see what Fangy was doing upwind. I didn't quite make it to him, when I found some chop that didn't seem to bad, but all I could do there was a 28 and lots of very scary 27s. Thought I'd give up, so get going upwind to tell Fangy, he was feeling the same, so the comp to see if we could make the downwind run back in one run.
I was close, and had a 30kt, couldn't believe it, wasn't as scary as those 27s. Almost went back for a few more runs, but listened to this old body and decided against it.
And not to ne outdone on the pretty crayons front.
