Joined the Cap’n for a lunchtime session at Boombas. The Cap’n charged off downhill to Narimba Quay a few minutes ahead of me. By the time I got down there to join him, it appeared as though he was heading out of the smooth waters and back into the lumpy goodness. I took that as a sign that it was Scary Berg City on the eastern side of the Quay, so I turned around and spent the arvo on the outside too.

After wandering around for a bit, I reckon the best stuff was in the first bay, reasonable water, plenty of depth and zero bergs. The breeze wasn’t quite so co-operative and appeared to be swirling around off Point Grey and fluctuating in strength with the passage of the rain bands.

Despite the conditions being pretty ordinary, I really enjoyed my sailing today. Nothing too taxing ( I kept my cardiologist happy at the very least :-)  or sphincter tightening, nor any significant numbers, just a good ol’ cruise around the place. And a Top Ten Fangy hot cuppa from the thermos at the end.

Boombas with Fangy, 53cm board 6.2m koncept 20cm@55 weedy. Wind started out a good direction but then started to swing more westerly making the long runs way dowwind. I discovered a big patch of weedburgs around Narimba cay. Had a big squall come through and I was massively overpowered. Started to head back to change down to the 5.4, but then the wind backed off again and the 5.4 would have been too small. Also found the water closer to home was just a good as that way down wind, so spent the rest of the time close to the launch.

The warning posts around the Cay were nice and clear today, I could see them from both directions, which was very handy, because a couple of times I had it perfectly lined up.

Coodanup, WA, AU Pat 110/FF24 and TRX 7.0 Good sail with Woody and Flatchat :) haven’t seen a mobber for a while but I’m getting used to these Peskys being around. Slammed my way through a few gybes today and whilst the speeds weren’t up there they felt fast as.

Good to see you out there Jonski and Mike and Fangy, I wondered if Boombas was playing host.
