More float and exploration than sailing this morning, arrived at 10:30 when the wind of course backed off and sailed the wrong section beach 2, still great to see what potential this area has, been about 2 years since I last sailed here in winter. Northerly perfect for beach 2 speed run 23 weedy and you'll miss the shallows, NW not so crash hot as the waves start to roll into the speed run. Surprisingly beach 3 the Northern end due to it being shallow and weed just below is quite smooth 21-23 fin would be okay. But whats even better is the run down to the ammo jetty, rolling 3 foot swell could be awesome. Caught up with  Rome and his buddy sailing, they had no issues getting going slightly bigger board/sail and probably weigh a good 15kg less than me. Well Woodies is back onthe radar for the next northerly.

Melville Beach, WA, AU iS111, 7K, 24FF then 40 LE weedy

I missed the best of the wind but there was still 12 - 14 kn when I arrived, which unfortunately dropped to 8kn by the time I was rigged, with the odd gust.

The Fangy fin couldn't get me planing today, but the 40 cm weedy did. Thanks for the suggestion, David. It was too shallow to risk a pointer.

Enough wind some of the time, but I was going better than most.

Very patchy but was great to see a mates 14yo son get a buzz planing on his new freeride board.

He was amazed how fast it was compared to the Funster, reckon he'll be very happy with a nice seabreeze.

Good to catch up with many peopleSmile

Got down the river after nephews 3rd birthday party. Got on the water about 2pm but thats when the wind started to drop right off. Still was fun to get some runs in.

Dutchies - super fun NNW 12-18 knots at 9am.

Great wind direction - fewer islands to the north to block the swell so it builds quickly Smile
