Holloways with Benny.....wind was off and on and when it was on I am not sure how Benny held on to his 8.6....great effort.

Me...on the other hand struggled with my 6.6...fitness appears to be at an all time low....good news is it can only get better...i hope!

Anyway was reasonably enjoyable pity i could not do more to back him up.

Wow if only we got easterlies all the time here.  Fantastic to be able to run along the swell lines in lieu of punching through them.  Only tricky bit is launching in the shore break with dead onshore wind and slogging it hard upwind to miss the Wreck Point rocks.  Wind was very up and down but got some decent gusts to have a blast.

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Snagged a rare early knock off from work, so headed straight to the mud pit for a sail with the magnificent Freddy Burke!

Wind looked good on arrival but then backed off a bit, so I was very indecisive on what to rig...  Finally decided to just rig big and get out on the water...  As soon as we got out, the wind decided to crank up a notch with some squalls coming through from the Southern valleys (never a good sign)- way overpowered at times to then instantly underpowered in the shifty SSE/S/SSW flukey wind.

With that being said, short runs were in order staying closer to the beach (just in case) practicing some more on the gybes...  Predominately super rough sea conditions sailing towards high tide.  Freddo looked the goods for the most part sailing with his 6.6!, except for the one moment when he decided to "send it" on some decent swell - as soon as I got the thumbs up in passing, I gave it a 10/10 for the unorthodox landing! Tongue out

Noticed Freddo decided to call it a day (one could hardly blame him considering the conditions), so came in for a quick break/debrief...  Then Nurse Emily (one of the sailors we met at Mission Beach & I think somehow related to Eddie) rolled up looking super keen for a late afternoon sail!!, quickly rigging up her Exo 115 & 5.7 or thereabouts.  Another squall or two came through and bang!- off she went blasting heading well upwind for a couple of decent runs (reckon she might have put us to shame if she had a GPS on), that is until the wind went from Hero to Zero, making it a long dredge back to base...

All up, nice arvo spent with great company out on the water!- soooo much better than working!!!

Eddy-were you too busy with work today?

I think Fast Freddie is gone, might need to get everyone together and have a wake!

Yer Gaz. Work and Kid pick up after school. A wake for Fast Freddie. That sounds like a good reason to have a get together and a few beers. 👍😁
