A nice session to start to local season at Area 45 on low tide and westerly to WSW wind. Marginally powered on the 6.2m and IS87 for the main session but could place out of most Gybes. The wind died for an hour. Saw black clouds coming so waited and were rewarded wth a squall. Got my face defoliated by the stinging rain and had to stop while one heavy shower passed. I was FULLY lit for a couple of runs so wind over 25 for a brief time. Managed one decent bearaway from the sand bar in flat water, and then the wind started to die again and we floated in.
I sailed my 'new' 2006 IS87. Not surprisingly it feels just like my old one but looks much better!
Used Martins Atomic 30cm pointer fin and remembered why they are so nice. This one works better than any of my others!
I remembered why I like doing this.
Lots of sailors about for the SHQ Cup Weekend so it was great to chat and catch up and meet new faces.
