Boggy Lake, SA, AU. arrived to geoffs stack it, in middle ,broken outhaul, 30min walk back, 6 out good friday cold 16C, wind 20knts . rigged 5.8 plenty in the chop, trouser`s disappewered for 30mins in the deep by reeds, sent out rescue party only to see him suddenly sail back, glen, dave, chris, geoff and shane and me all had some runs, wintery day though. my forth day of sailing,

did some runs yesterday no gps, also tried the foil, took off, now need to level out, this is going to take a lot practice, not to mention the crash landings, bit like your first time planing in straps.

el'Bog sw 15-20kt.

Nearing bog I got a sinking feeling I'd forgotten my wettie...pulled over and it wasn't there. Crushed, I almost turned around right there but I was so close. I pushed on and found it hiding in my car on arrival. I was going to get a sail after all.

Rigged my i97-6.2M1-BPR325 combo. el'Bog had got really lumpy (sw frontal not seabreeze?) Clear water was scarce but the wind was mostly consistent.

Dropped a gybe on the other side managed to fill the luff panel. With big rollers coming thru and too deep to touch, I could not for the life of me fly the sail. Exhausted, I swam everything to the reed bank where I finally got my feet down and got it going again. It took me more then twenty minutes and the lads couldn't see me from that far away, so Stotty came out to check I was ok. And I was, but I appreciate the effort. Legend.

Reckon I'd been ok with a bouyancy vest, so imma look into that out. Anyhoo, not my finest day but pumped to get some time-on-water.

Boggy Lake, SA, AU

20 knots solid

8.6 and SLW with stash on 135L Jp and 8.6.

Abit too much of everyhting but thtas the way I like it.

having fun then hit something fish hopefully that snap my fin back to 45 degrees , didnt damage box thank god.

Stash the same thing hit something but his fin is one piece and ripped his fin back wards breaking the back of the box bummer.

so  we got out our Jp 69cm boards with 8.6 and was having a hoot when my 43 seelct fin just sheerd off right up the top of reeds.  with 40mins of real light left. I started drifting Stash went and got another fin. got back just before dark.

another one else had problems with fish!!  I personally cant see fish breaking fins, Ive hit them before in currency creek and they just die and float to surface.  below is phot of where we hit .

Good that you guys got out 😊.  Sam and me did the same trousers 4 to 5 kms out in the deep we couldn't get out thought we were dead 😮.  Scary stuff don't pull and stop without leaving the race sails out the water 😂🤣😂

Peter I just made a screen recording of the process - a picture is worth a thousand words hopefully. Basically, it's a simply a process of embedding the source code using Copy and Paste. Just make sure you don't stress when the video doesn't immediately show in the Comments section. You have to go back to the GPSTC home page and re open your Team page, and then it will show.

There are other ways to do it, but this seems to be nice and easy/reliable. Hope it helps.Laughing

Jeez, looks like I just missed you lads. That's bad luck breaking all that gear.

Boggy carp strikes are common in warmer months. We've spotted/removed all the hazards during the drought years I don't think there's anything where you marked. I hit a carp myself yesterday. Glancing blow - no bigggie, but you boys connected hard. Carp busting gear is very rare but not unhead of.

And about a year back my beloved Select S07 (maybe?) sheared flush along the bottom of the base like I'd carefully hacksawed it off. Mine was 2nd-hand and I rode it a lot, so maybe its time was up. But sounds like that's they way they throw it in.

peter yep i did my 38cm fin about same spot, doing my last effort 5pm back in march, i got close to the reeds 100m, at about 27knts fin just seem to let go, left with screw and barrell, did not feel like a carp hit, more like fin just giving aawy or a old reed clump still . its a hell walk back. there are some big 80cm carp in there, late arvo is feeding time? I think  since speeds gone up over30knts with bigger fins the carp dont have time to react. there is a carp spawning season, and they like certain araes, sam seems to get a few, but slower guys do not.
