Windfoil, Foilville

Very cautious again out there with the Moths racing till 5. Probably wise to stay away till its finished i reckon. Theyre pretty fast and plenty of them.

Wind seemed strong at first and faded to a warm breeze.

Peli Pt, WA, AU. After work sess down at Peli Pt in a super light breeze. Had to pump hard to get going and then try to string some gusts together for a bit of a run. There were some real glass sections out there today. Had some fun blasts with some slalom girl early on which was fun (great gybes), saw Levitating Lunny doing a few runs, then later joined by John, Mike, Luke and a few more 8.6m2 crew for some late drags around the outside markers. Became a fun game seeing who could line up a windy patch with a gybe! Had a lot of fun racing out there!

Great sail despite the light wind. Might be the last seo for a while so glad I could make the most of it. Cool

Safety Bay, WA, AU

Played dodgem teabaggers at the Beaver, added bonus of dodgem sand bank as well, started with a 29WS first run across the bank just touching so changed down to a 25, thought I had it sussed went to the top of the run okay, turned and started the run down towards the bank, well maybe I should have payed more attention to the sand that has built up right before the weed beds was shallow enough for the 25 fin to be a 24cm nearly went over managed to save it this was the best run of the day as the wind eased off a bit. Didn't push it too hard as had the boom held on by a rope wrapped around the mast to hold it in place, the plastic holding the clamp had snapped and the only thing holding the boom to the mast was the make shift rope, didn't venture to far out but was fun in the sound apart from heaps of stringy weed, even the 45 deg fin didn't work on the ribbon weed.

Woodmans Point, WA, AU

Went for distance on the foil but started getting dark when i got to 70kms so called it a day. Wind was around 20-23 knots a bit up and down. First time to foil on the 4.2. Had the boom up to avoid the chop/swell going upwind and way down going downwind. Boz stopped by for a chat afterwards and maybe to check if I made it home in one piece.Laughing

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Late start at Peli, it was after 5 by the time I got on the water.

Only 15Kish, when I arrived, so I rigged the 6.4 and Levitator with the big wing.  Just before I launched it picked up to 18-20K, so I grabbed the Infinity 65 wing instead.

First half hour was mint, nicely powered on the 6.4 + small wing combo, and I was up near Melville when it shut down around 6.  Long slog home in around 12K, which was nowhere near enough for my set-up.

Fun while it lasted, but Damn Huey when ya gonna get dinkum?  This season has been pretty shite so far Undecided

Safety Bay, WA

Great session on the newly acquired WindTech 920 Pro Race (a vintage 9'2" board from 1994). Picked it up today from Bill in Riverton and headed down to Liptons hoping for some wind. Not much was happening there so headed up to Safety Bay where it was blowing nicely. Caught up with Boz and made the fatal mistake of following him over the weed bank into the pond. Hit a sand bar at full pelt and got thrown over the rails and smashed on the sand bar. Fortunately I wasn't injured and the board survived too. Lesson learnt - don't follow Boz into the shallows! He had around 4 cm less fin than I had which apparently made all the difference. Was chasing Ant Man around for a while but couldn't quite catch him - had him worried for a while though!

Anyway, had a hoot on the vintage Windtech and was good to try something from the early days. Another great board design that has stood the test of time. Nice work Neil - you haven't lost your touch after all these years. Will be good to put it up against the Nine Four when it comes out!

Some gopro footage of me chasing Ant Man on the new (old) WindTech!

Pretty sure my 2nd WindTech was a race pro 900 with purple text, Dan. It was awesome. Funnily enough, both my WindTechs got nose jobs near that very same sandbank when I went over the handlebars while learning as a kid. I remember them just flying, was so much fun.
