SW change came through. Up and down like a YoYo! Sytarted rigging 5.7m and then looked up and saw a huge cloud of sand blowing. Whoops. Looks like 5.2m. Rigged that and it was apparent that the wind was still stronger than for that sail. 35-40 knots. I downhauled and outhauled to to the limit and launched. I was getting thrown around all over the place but managed to get on the speed bank and hang on to whenre the red bouy used to be. The sail was acting like and on off switch with the extremem set and the super gust wind. I was pretty much on the edge of blowing up the whole way. 39. 1 s 2 sec on Logit when actually surprised me. I didnt think it would be that fast being so out of control.
I sailed upwind and back to the launch point, still being belted around and decided to rig the 4.7m. But by the time I had walekd back to the trailer, the wind looked to have eased back. I tried again with the same geat but was now underpowered and could only just get going. A couple of low 30's runs and then a 36 and then I could not waterstart and had to body drag all the way down the course.
That was enough sp i walked back and called it a day along with everyone else.
Short and intense!
It been raining steadily for over and hour here niow. I hope it get all the way up the coast!!
