Hardie (35683km): Bit of fun, really happy for Peter (Waricle) and Andrew (Pacey) PBing today
Stretch (30716km): Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. FF89/SCR6.3/TWS29. Boy that was fun, much better than expected. Choppy conditions, but a great adrenalin rush and I could go anywhere I wanted, from the Rock groyne all the way to Belvedere. Woohoo!
waricle (17386km): Peel Inlet, WA, AU xfire 114 mistral speed 95 ff24, pepe weed speed 22 koncept 5.8 They let me out to play with the big boys today.... Joseph took me under his wing for a proper speed session and I learnt a lot. i was a lot slower than most of the others but my times are definetly improving thanks to his input and guidance. I been given lots of encouragement by all the local sailors too. the conditions were great and I even rigged the right sail. 35 knots here I come. happy days.
Decrepit (54483km): Attack on the 75yr old ranking, not sure how I went until after I pres the post button, but I'll be sure to come back with the result. So went for hr and distance. Tide was low but coming up, same with the wind. So started with the 53cm board, 5.7 KA speed with 20cm@ 55d deltoid. Got the hr in on that, just, wind and tide had picked up and was getting a bit choppy for the big board, changed down to the 48cm board with higer aspect 20cm @ 40/60d weedy. This was much more manageable so just concentrated on raking up Ks with a few alphas and bear offs thrown in for fun. Back after with result. Yep, did it Woooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooo. Only 9 of us so hardly a big field, but it's still nice to be on top. Here's the tracks. You can see I did a lot of my runs in the smooth at PT Grey, only 1km runs but faster than slowing down through the channel, and the I could feel the jolting wasn't doing my back any good. I was half tempted to go for the ton, but I think my back will be sore enough tomorrow anyway.
So great sessiont today, several PBs and lots of very happy faces!
fangy (22667km): Unleashing the inner Elmo and had a blast on the Vintage Missy Flow FF22 and Koncept6.6. I was joined by my brother who also had a cracker bash and splash session by cracking 30 knots on my old F2 Stoke.
It started off a bit weird with Iain coming in saying that he was under-done on his 6.4. I had rigged a 6.6 and it turned out that I was well powered from the get go. Makes me think Iain has been eating way too many pies. What else could explain needing a bigger sail than me?
He also produced a brand spankin’ new FF22 with absolutely no finishing other than getting the box and fillet fitting correctly (Plus some box resin with sparkles in it…) The foil is as per ex- foundry, as rough as an acne face-scape. Iain said it was no different to the fully finished and polished versions. Tricky is already celebrating after being proved right yet again…Sigh a tough day at the office for me.
As for me it was a blast on the bumpy stuff and enjoyed myself immensely. Chasing chop lines that developed in to decent rollers and a crack some u-turns at either end in less than ideal conditions. I tried out a modified FF22 and I was very happy with the result. But of course the best stuff was watching the carnage that resulted from Brainless Brother attempting a gybe in the thick of shallows of the rock garden.
Top Ten Fangy Braindead Bro sorta day :-)

Elmo (31413km): JP Slalom 71, NP RSR E7 7.0m, Pepe Delta weed 22cm Lilacs on a Gusty WSW. Was ok, a few holes a few bullets, one stingray. Quite a high tide, so going onto the weed bank was no problems, the biggest issue I had was figuring out where the hell I was as all the usual markers are behind you. Had a nice time with some nice runs, decided to flag it after I hit the ray which gave us a look around the mast and caused me to stop about 15m away, it looked a bit stunned flapping around in circles. Awesome way to top the day viewing The Gap, Bridge and Blowholes getting pounded by a +4m swell
