sboardcrazy (24363km): 5-8kts occ patch 10-12kts SSW then 10-13kts out in the middle Canton Beach, NSW, AU 7.5m GT Turbo- RS4 ( 111ltre) - 24cm FF then later 43cm weedy for trips across the lake. Got there early as it was predicted to die..Buggerall at first spent the first few hours slogging around catching the occasional 10-12kt patch. It was more consistent down the bottom out in the chop so I had a few fun runs there. Nothing much in the shallows. After a short break to eat I put the big fin in for security in the chop . It was pretty flat but there were still a few 3ft rollers coming through at times.. It would be great B & J in stronger winds.. There were a few better gusts in close but after the big fin stopped as it hit a weed clump and I did a slow catapult into the sail I decided to unhook and plod until I hit deep water. The usual ,, I had sailed c 3hrs when it kicked in so I was pretty stuffed.. Did 2 runs right across. a lot of fun.. Just powered if I pumped onto the plane. Second one I muffed my gybe and I was so tired I was struggling to uphaul so I decided to call it a day. I've lost weight which is great for getting going in light conditions but I'm going to get blown off the water in the strong winds at Lake George.. Only me . Pete called in as I was packing up. very busy with stand up paddles , sit on tops and a few large Hobie cats out in the middle. Glad I was going north. It was a carpark for over 20kms with people going south back to Sydney!
