Marmong Point, NSW, AU

Exocet RF91, TRX 7.0, Axis Foil - Wind NE 10-15 knots

Nice after work foil at Marmong.  Demo'd a new foil today - Axis Windfoil.  900mm wing has a stack of front foot lift, and it tried to kill me initially until i moved the mast track way forward.   Very different to the Naish foil, lots of low end power but seems to accelerate pretty quickly.  Next time i'll move the footstraps forward too - couldnt get in them today with this foil.

Wallis Lake, NSW, AU

Trying to get ready for Round 5 of the NSW GPS/Slalom Series, gusty 10-25+ N/E that made things rather tricky/unsettling.

Fanatic Ray 102, KA Race 6.3, 30 MUF weed speed. Had a couple of runs on the weed beds which was pretty flat but a delta style fin would have been more appropriate.

Hopefully the wind will be a bit more consistant for the Comp days , but it blew most of the night and is starting to build already and it's 9 am.

Very patchy 5-15kts E - ENE few areas of 18kts plus Coal Point, NSW, AU

 So much for my 20-25kt plus B & J session..Frown

7m NCX - WT 85ltre Magic Bullit - 31cm fin then 35cm slalom fin

 5.7m gator - 25cm maui ultra wave

The aim for today was to wait off for later and have an awesome B & J session.. not wear myself out early as usual..Undecided

I wanted to see if the 85 could carry a 7m sail so decided to give it a go while I was waiting. Used an old caveman 31cm that wobbled all over the place and that went ok so then borrowed a 35cm slalom type US box fin from Andrew. Works well. other than the fact that the boom was miles too high. I had it at the bottom of the cutout. I'll have to extend my lines as much as I can.

I haven't bothered to take the side fins out. They don't seem to be an issue.

It was a pretty gusty 5 - 13kts first go so I only got going slowly but I went out later in stronger wind and it went well. I should be able to get going in c 13kts although it will be more fun in 14kts plus. I should be able to use the combo on those patchy 12-18kt days when the chop is too big to enjoy on the RS4. Cool

So I now have a one board choice from 15-30kts..Tongue outTongue out

Waited on the shore for it to get ballistic but it didn't look like it was going to happen so played it safe and rigged the 5.7m and went back out. I should have kept the 7m on..Undecided

There was big dead patch from Coal to the sand islands ( 5-12kts) but good 18 plus at the caravan park and some ok patches above the point although it was still a dodgy up there.

Didn't get planing a lot but the times I did left me hanging for another fix..Tongue out

Andrew , Greg and Tony on foils , Lajos and Gert and a few others. A foiling kiter launched as I was packing up.

After the boat traffic of the holidays it was nice to sail an empty lake ..Smile

I gave Gert a go on the 85 at the end. We weren't sure he'd have enough wind but he got enough to get going.

James, what you need is a slingshot.  And I know a really good looking bloke who is about to sell his.
