Beachport, SA, AU

Heard Mikey & Keen go this morning, looked outside and it was cold and misty, na rolled over and snuggled the Child Bride instead. Just couldn't get motivated later, it was cold, still misty and didn't seem too windy. But then I got a call to sail the big lake with Jamie, sounded like a plan so we did. Had a great little sail in the deap blue, got out when I thought my wing man was, only to see him zip off again and again but this old bugger got cold and called it. Funny it never felt too windy but the LG'ers said it was on the lake, go figure.

CA SL87L, 34 Venom, 6.6 Koncept and a thin rubber.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU. SB Formula/SuperCruiser Foil/ 6m GPX. Sailing with the Pt Bouvard race crew. Interesting spectacle seeing all the kitefoilers, catamarans and windfoilers running up the inlet. I decided just to be a sailing spectator as my skills arent there yet. It was a good call because I rigged too small (expecting wind to pick up) and spent a fair bit of time struggling to get on the foil. Ironically, wind and weather were much better back in Australind (15-20kt, sunny) compared to the light wind and gloomy drizzly conditions we had, but no regrets it was an interesting arvo and definitely worth the trip Smile

PBYC Platform Race, 8.6, Patrick 128, Slingshot 84

Having reshuffled my pack in the last few months to lean towards chasing swells in the ocean what did i find myself doing today.. Im pretty sure the real race was to get over the start line and in this I succeded in being ahead of Slugger so mission complete. I then hit top speed of around 14 knots and watched as the fleet sailed away from me. Great turn out and well done to Stroppo for getting the guys down there its a great venue. I didnt finish the race as I was never comfy on the gear and it was a long grueling leg up to the platform but happy just to be out on the water with a good bunch of guys. I will be back next year but on some slightly different gear Wink

Does anyone else shudder at the mental picture of when Firiebob talks of a thin rubber? Surprised
