Lake George, SA, AU rrd 114,koncept 5.8 ff22

Well, that went badly

Jamie and I both rigged 5.8 and slalom boards, meanwhile the wind was building  and building.

Jamie went out first and was flying so I watched him for a few minutes and the wind was still building and building

I thought I'll go out and see what its like. Meanwhile the wind was building and building

I sailed out towards the wind line and thought gee, that wind has built,  might gybe before it gets too windy and go back and change down.

You guessed it - the wind was building

I attempted a gybe,  got picked up, slapped around a bit and then and got chucked through my sail.

I got back on what was left and proceeded back to shore, got half way back, the harness line came out of the hook and the board took of down the lake on

its own. I swam, ran, crawled after it and it eventually it got caught up and I reached it.

I noticed Jamie had stopped sailing and was waiting it out and I thought Jamie has has these huge cojones and he's stopped and mine have shrivelled to

the size of raisins- I'm going to call it before I do some real damage.

By the time I got back to shore Jamie was in too. He said "That was windy" and I agreed.

After a few minutes of swapping stories the wind turned around to the west a lot more and dropped a bit.

Jamie went back out to sail the glassy water near the spit and I had lunch and packed.

It looked good when he was out the second time but I'd had enough fun for one day.

I just waited till he came back in and that, as they say, was that
