Sandy Point, Vic.

First sail since the lockdown. It felt good just to get on the water. Smile  16-22 knots WSW.

I had the whole inlet to myself until just as I was coming in a couple of local kiters showed up.

This was the first time I had a chance to try the Atomic Weapon slalom fin in the IS80. I was rapt to find that it worked just as well in this board as it did in my older IS87. Every time I sail this fin I am amazed at its grip and confidence building security in rough chop. I was actually doing my bearaways right out in the middle of the channel over 1/2 to 1 foot high chop. Both the board and the fin gave me huge confidence.Cool

It was just a bit too broad to run the bank so I had to start out wide and rough and gradually get closer to the end. It was actually kinda fun. Smile

I was there waiting for the wind change about 1.2 hr before it came and had already rigged my 5.2m and set up the CA40 just in case it did kick in strong. Then I rigged up the 5.7m and set up the IS80, which is what I used for the whole session. The 25-30 knots didnt arrive. Hopefully it will tomorrow.

2017 IS80, Atomic Weapon SL 30cm, 2020 KA Speed 5.7m, GW-52.
