Sailed Avalon with JP 142L GA 5.8 Poison JP 42 weed slalom.

Slow-going on the way out with about 5 to 8 knots of wind but heaps of fun riding the waves in. Never got planing on the way out meaning the 2 and 10 seconds were achieved by catching waves. Screaming NMLaughing

I see you werent game to go out through the gap in the reef here. Can be very tricky with swell and light wind.

I find with wind that light, the sail's acting as a wind brake going down the line, are you sheeting out to prevent that?

Just enough wind to assist with balancing board and rig and moving forward at a couple of knots. Sailed out to Sharky's first however the waves were a bit fat and difficult to catch as I had no speed. Worked my way up to Avalon where I was able to pump the sail onto some nice waves. Yeah, as I get onto the wave I sheet out and keep my rig as far away from me as possible and focus on surfing the board without the rig coming into play. I was fortunate enough not to wipeout but there were a couple of sets that came through with me teetering on the crest pumping the sail to get onto the waveSmilegets interesting at that point as if your timing's out you can free fall or get bulldozed by the next wave.

Yes, I know that feeling, that's why I no longer wave sail unless it's over 12kts
