Peel Inlet, WA, AU, Fun sail at Liptons, joined by Peter who convinced me to rig bigger and go out again.  Wasted too much energy on the smaller sail which was 90% grovelling.  AS I got off the water the wind filled in a bit.  Carbon Art Slalom Custom 74/121. First TR9 7.0m the 7.6m TR4, Pepeweed 32/48.

Barge II SCR 8.6 FF28.  I kicked off from Wamba Rd just as the breeze kicked off somewhere else. I ended up floating around on the Barge for a good hour checking out what was happening under the surface. Not much it seems. But even so, there were some brave crabbers out in the deeper water wandering around catching nothing. I kept checking the foreshore for Dr Doldrum, because when I rigged up it was looking pretty decent, and now it was almost perfect SUP cruising weather. There is only a few special GPSTCers who have the ability to becalm that effectively.

After an hour of this, I began wondering where the Scud had landed this time. Then quite suddenly, the breeze shifted to SW and picked up a few knots. I am planing! And lo and behold the Scud is there. I beginning to think he is the opposite of Dr Doldrum, wherever The Scud lands, there is breeze.

The second hour was just a question of timing the bullets as they came across. If you were fortunate to catch one, you rode it to the end. If you missed it, you plodded.  Joe V joined in the epileptic sort of session and there was another sail I didn’t recognise. Happily we didn’t have a GPS on The Scud so there is no official record of having my arse kicked. So in that case it was a Top Ten Better than Studying Fangy day.:-)
