Hardie and Binny arrived very soon after me, Binny was sailing well after a long break off the water.
I didn't really think it was going to happen, so didn't make a lot of effort to be there early, so missed some of the best wind. I didn't get planning until 11:12. The peak below was at 9:40, by 11 the average was 13kts
But I'd found the 23cm@40/60 That I wanted to try in the 55cm board with the 6.2 koncept. So in the hope of getting some good gusts, that's what I rigged. I did get enough of a gust to confirm this is a great combo, but spent a lot of time groveling doing it.
Wind was very up and down, strange thing was, the nice ups lasted long enough to get from Cobblers to Ward Pt and the big lulls lasted all the way back! Then wind would kick in again and suck you in, all the way to Ward Pt again. I guess if you were smart, you'd wait the lulls out, but it's a long way to walk back from Ward Pt, if the wind decides to completely die.
