Holloways with Benny......beach pretty packed for mothers day.....wind decided to stay home!!!

Looked ok although a bit easterly setting up but as with yesterday..looks can be deciving.

Anyway managed one run on the plane a little down wind and spent the rest of the session

getting home. On the way back in Benny decided to go for another run out....not this 'black duck'

just kept coming home and glad I did!! Thinking Benny certainly deserves 'man of the match' although

this title does not come with a new board.Wink

isonic 117, koyote 6.6, sting 2-42 fin.

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU  Desperado light wind sail attempt but in good company with Freddy Burke.

Pulled the now ancient Exocet 135 Speed Slider out of retirement after dropping off "Big Woody" Futura 124 to the board Doctor's shed...  Rigged with Severne 8.6 M2 and Venom 48...  So much difference in sailing when comparing the 2 boards (not surprised as there is about a 15 year age gap between them)- ie. the old board being alot harder to pop up quickly on the plane in the lighter winds, trying to manoeuvre was like having a car without power steering, and general planing speed being about 3-4 knots at the very least slower I reckon.  And that's not to mention every little bump in the water could be felt vibrating through the board like some sort of funky Mexican wave...

So the long & short of it is I think I've just justified that a new board for the quiver is definitely now in order, and it just so happens I've already got a couple in mind... Laughing

Only managed a couple of planing runs, too much hard work was the verdict today from both Freddo & myself...  But we still took 1 for the team Wink

Lots of families spread out picnicking at the beach today.
