Point Walter, WA, AU

yesterday... 5.6m 91 27wsp. wasnt going to post but the novelty of this was different. Forecast for armegeddon and there were solid gusts... went down to melville to see a few guys grovelling or walking back saying it was windy earlier (PD on a 5.6m!). Temp dropped 10C in an hour and it was p!ssing with rain. Wind also clocked around from the N back to NE. Could see it was still windy out the back but not much at Melville so drove to Pt Walter. It WAS windy with some nice looking bullets so rigged and got out. Tacked up to the back of the Melville sandbar for some rolling chop "speed" runs but just as I approached my footstrap screw popped off. NOOOOO. Sailed back without front strap quite powered up downwind. That was a challenge. Fixed strap. Wind died. Waited. Swung back to N again so super gusty at the Pt walter boat ramp. Grovelled out and by the time I got to the boat ramp it was ON. Proper on. I could barely hang on. Sailed up to melville in the squall with huge bullets ripping past and decent sized rollers breaking onto the attadale foreshore. THat was novel. Gusts easily high 30s llow 40s. Got to Melville. Said hi to Paul, and headed back. Wind promptly shut down. Driving back there were big trees on the road from that squall... I guess it was windy!
