JP SLW, NP Alpha 5.8m, NP RSX MWS

Good turnout down the bottom of the hill, last one on the water today, twas a bit breezy soi I was trying to control the lift.

Last bit got it right but a good breach and over the front made us think twice about being the last on the water.

Had a lot of fun though and good to test in overpowered conditions.

Point Grey, WA, AU  BOOMBAS! havent been to Boombas for a while so it was fun to get out with Mike, Slugger, the Pilchard brothers and Waricle the wind killer, who seemed to cause a lull everytime he approached the water with his rig

Boombas with Fangy, Scud, Stretch, Slugger and Waricle. Great to catch up with Slugger again with a good team outing.

Wind was light so rigged the biggest I'd bought, new 55cm board, 6.6 koncept, 21cm@55d deltoid.

This worked OK, but was only well powered occasionaly, most of the time, underdone to groveling.

Light wind and low tide meant there was some reasonably flat areas, these were fun when a gust coincided with passage through them.

Glad I used the 55deg fin, got a couple of firm tugs from some out of sight weedburgs, I managed to avoid the more obvious ones, those seagulls do a good job of marking them.

Here's my tracks.

Dawesville    JP135, super cruiser with 1300 wing. Simmer Enduro 5.4

Great day with a good crew out, sailed approx 75 km today without a stop but the watch died at 63 km. Only 3 offs in the session and one of them was a crab pot with a very long rope on it that was just below the surface no where its little float,

Stroppo and Mike were on the wing dings and are learning rapidly. both were getting great flights and making it up and down wind fine.

Quite a decent team turn out for a Sunday arvo at Boombas. It has been quite awhile since I have managed to sneak around the corner into Boombas proper. I found it was delightfully Pesky free and the bulk of the bay is also still free of big bergs, but there are few clumps down the eastern end that some serious stopping power.

When I arrived the wind was at its peak, it dropped off over the next half hour but I expected as per forecast it would return. It didn’t. So I spent the first couple of hours dogging around. This was made so much more fun by T1 flying past with streamers and glitter, singing Charlene’s “ I Have Never Been to Me”. ( yes, it’s that song that was possibly the worst ever written)

Stretch add to the Funbury Boy Party time by attempting a few runs with a leftover bridge pylon bolted on to the board. It was a fast pylon, until it wasn’t, courtesy of an excellent tackle by Mr W. Burg.

The Scud kept up his social distancing and just plain buggered off somewhere in an easterly direction.

Cap’n Calm arrived with a Mardi Gras banner for a sail, albeit it a small one. The other Druid, Waricle, dropped his toes in the water and that was pretty much it for any chance of the wind building.

With so much going in my favour I plodded back for a cuppa. This worked very well and immediately the breeze appeared to freshen, so much so, I got more miles done in the last half hour than I had in the first couple of hours. The sun started to get a bit low and I had to pack it up and just in case I thought I had got off very lightly with the bergs, Mother Nature decided to test my skills on gravel with trailer versus a couple of mobs of kangaroos on the road. I am always amazed that you never see a crow being flattened by a car, but a roo with a brain 10 x bigger always manages decide to leave a nice paddock full of green grass,  clear the fences and several large bushes just to make a made dash across the road in front of you at the worst possible time.

Despite all that, what a beaut day - mid winter blue skies and a bit of sun and company. Top Ten Fangy Day. Laughing

Waricles law states that "For every sail rigged the wind must drop five knots" and conversly "For ever sail de-rigged the wind shall increase five knots" As I was the last to rig it meant that I was dredging for the first hour until one of the Pilchard brothers de-rigged and I was therefore able to get on the plane Cool
