Shingles was 35 to 40 you just couldnt sail so went to budgi riged 6.3 and speed board but there was about 15 knots out where we sailed and it was shallow so somehow managed to get back in unriged and went back to shingles. Now blowing 25 to 35 so ok riged 6.3 and 90 wow was it windy stood up a few times. Lots of weed comming out of Dora creek and angle no good behind shingles top speed in midle of lake just puting foot down in chop.

Stingray Whisperer and 5.5m

Marmong Pt Club Race Day: No course set.

Lyds and I had a bit of a blast in super gusty westerly. Then Tibor and Anthony had a few runs on race gear.

Plenty of chatting on the bank.

Well..well...that was very unpleasant.  As always it's always better than staying on shore plus one can also always learn something. ..if nothing else not to go out in this kind of breeze. It was good to see my southern friends Steve Lyds,  Andrew and a new young foiler Anthony and his family from the bay..

See how we go tomorrow as the wind is supposed to turn to the much more pleasant southerly..

15- 25/30kts W then 5 - 25kts patchy W Peely Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Level 0.11 too shallow

4.6m KA Koncept - 80 iso- 16cm FF (cutdown 22)

 then 4.6m - 70ltre Patrick - 16FF

 then 5.5m Mach2 - 80 iso - 16FF

First one there and the first run I was maxed out on the 4.6m and the board felt too big. 25-30kts in the ' flats' which had 30cm rollers..I handled it but it wasn't very enjoyable coming back overpowered  in the chop with the 80 and i was in survival mode.

When I stopped at the end of the first run the rig separated from the board. I'd ended up halfway across the channel but luckily it was only waist deep. I managed to drag everything back into shallow water and it took some effort in the strong wind to get it back together.

Lucky it didn't happen in the middle of Lake Macquarie..Surprised

Changed to the 70ltre and of course the wind died..I had to get down there in a few bites and then wore myself out trying to start in the shallows. c 12 -15kts in there and I'd step on the board and it went straight to the bottom of the lake..Yell Pity as it was perfect in the strong stuff Tongue out just there wasn't enough of it..Undecided

Got the 80 again. The gusts weren't quite as strong and they were good . I got 30.8kts reaching across in the chop so I'm pretty chuffed with that..

The 2 sec was bearing down over 10-15cm chop so that's pretty good for me too..Smile It had an emergency stop at the end as I ran out of balls thinking it would be too shallow..Laughing It was shin deep but I was heading into shallower territory.

Funny after sailing Lake Macquarie chop and getting 25 / 26kts 30 seems a good speed to me..Laughing

Eventually rigged the 5.5m and then started to have some fun. It was still very patchy but that was good as the choppy bits weren't as big and I enjoyed flying the 80 over the tops..Tongue out I think I'm improving..

Tried a few gybes and got them but I was flipping the rig and the board wasn't right around..mustn't have been looking at the exit..I'll have to come down on a NE and have a refresher course.

Only me then Matt then Pete , Nigel, Pugs , Phillip , Lote (?), Byron and a lot of others later in the day.zzzzzzzz
