Coal Point, NSW, AU. Naish Foil big wing, 4.8 Hucker. Best foil session. Great to see so many foilers out. Love how the foil handles the usual long weekend boat traffic and chop.

So, not as good as they promised but still good enough for racing. Very good to have our new young member Anthony joining us. He was showing us the way..

Foil session falcon , duotone 8.9, starboard 900

Up wind down wind racing with Muz so close in speed and angles it was great. One race with walshy but he left me behind.

Went to Marmong to do some racing  but no wind not enough to even get going at times came back and heaps at coal point.

Very windy wangi point. Bigest foil I have ever done.

Marmong Point, NSW, AU NE 6-10 knts and hard yakka choosing small gear believing in ... bull dust. Good numbers in our foil fleet.

Marmong Point

Set a course hoping for the strong N/E that has been forcast all week. Well it was OK but not what we were expecting.  8-12+ knots.

Reasonable turn out at the Club today with the regulars , including Anthony with his IQ Foil gear, and a quick visit from Byron and Murray who quickly returned to the Southern part of the Lake due to the not so good conditions up at the Northern end. Oh well...Embarassed

HWR , Loft 7.8 , SB Race+ , 900 , -2 deg shim in Stab.. Bit of a mishap with the Motion ,included a run in the boat to retrieve the marks and the drive home.

Used GPS Speedreader to delete the mishap data and I think I got it right..

Heaps out and all over the lake

5-14kts ENE 15-20kts odd at Swansea caravan park - horrendous boatwake-  Coal Point, NSW, AU

7.5Gt Turbo- WT64- 35cm tectonic weed demon

Next time I say I'm going to sail Lake Macquarie on a LWE school holidays hit me please..YellFrown

A much better day for foiling than fin sailing.

Absolute crap. So messed up I wasn't able to power on with ramps coming from all directions, even the WT was struggling.

The forecast was for 15-28kts so I got the 90ltre out and aimed for an early go on that then the wavegear..It came in at 12-14kts but I wanted to wait a bit longer and rig the 7m on the WT57.

Nic was out using the harness for the first time and going well in the challenging conditions..

I finally realised it wasn't going to happen and rigged the big kit.

The boat traffic didn't look too bad but I'd forgotten that you get residual wake from a boat that passed earlier plus new wake..ugh..I had about half tail flex on. Right at the end I put 95% tail flex on and that did make for more fun with a spongier comfy ride but the wind had picked up a bit and most of the boats had gone by then anyway.

If we'd had 15kts plus it would have been better because I wouldn't have been on such a big board.. First run I headed for the caravan park.. 5-12kts most of the way then the last 500m was 15-20kts with 90cms moguls..too much sail , board and I was a bit worried the fin might rail me in the stronger stuff ( it went ok).

Turned around and tried to lose height so I wouldn't have to bear off near Coal.. Of course I got halfway back and it was only 5-12kts again in front of Coal..Yell I was tempted to get the smaller board and 7m and slog over to the other side for some fun but the wind could have died so I kept with the big kit.

Best run was late in the day when the chop was mainly windchop and the wind had kicked in gusting to 14kts..pity it was too late and I had to finish.

The foilers were having a ball. Wore my Aldi steamer as I thought the winter wettie would be too hot..brrr.. the lake is still too cold for the cheapie..

Next time I'll go to Budgy. Undecided .although it could have been good if we got some decent wind.

Michael and I on fins. Lajos turned up but wisely decided to give it a miss..Andrew, Tony, Lyds, Byron and Steve on foils..

Amazing speed like normal Lyds and Geoff I don’t know how you do it going across the breeze the race foil doesn’t like it at all, it just wants to go up wind down wind which I like going across scares the crap out of me .

I can go fast in a straight line and you can point like shit, that’s the difference. Your speed is great for a big sail and board you should be happy Byron. My foil is smaller and loves going fast
