Foil State Race #1 Kanahooka, NSW, AU

Well that was an experience... NE @ 5kts the forecast said. Reality 25 S/SW/W... damn.

Broke the mast cap off my new 9.0 so took the 10.0 to the water... and saw the whitecaps so decided to rig the 8, in a rush! Took the 8 to the water and saw  a lull, so left it behind and sailed the 10, with FMX and SB900. 

Race 1 was OK, strong winds but OK. 

Race 2, couldn't turn down the start line in 25kt gust... fell (along with a few others!), and eventually made it to the mark. Unhooked, about to round when slam! I hit a BIG jelly or actual fish and catapulted... remembering to sheet in and roll with the sail! Good plan, no damage. Made it to the bottom mark into a 5kt lull at 90 degrees (W) to the course and gave up as Grae crossed the line. Didn't feel like making everyone wait for me. 

Race 3, made it around, but had maybe a 40s lull with no power and one fall. 

Tough day! 

Really wish I had the 9... could have helped... ohh well back tot Barracuta.
