Exocet RF91, TRX 7.0, Starboard Race 900 - Wind ENE 10-12 knots

Perfect foiling conditions at coalie today.  Warm, sunny, gentle seabreeze, green grass to rig on - everything was great.    Good to see Sue, John and Gert - I guess Lyds was already home getting a massage by the time I got there Tongue out.

Saturday looking like another nice breeze - looking forward to our Marmong race day #2 - everyone welcome!

5-12kts E-ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU

7.5m GT Turbo- WT64- 35cm Tectonics weed demon

Patchy and gutless- needed another 2 kts. Sailed from 3 - 5pm and it was hardwork at times..

Expectations certainly affect your enjoyment..Undecided  I really enjoyed yesterday as I didn't expect to get going. Today it looked to be 10-12kts above the point so I was hoping for a fun cruise..nah..

I'm going to have to stop making wind judgements wearing polariods..Undecided

The best run was straight from the start but I lost some ground and I needed to get above the point and out of the dead spot in front of Coal . I probably wasted the best wind slogging upwind. I didn't want to bear off and get going as there wasn't enough behind the gusts to keep going so I'd only lose ground..

Once up there the gusts were sometimes enough to pump onto the plane but often they weren't supported by any following wind so it wasn't worth the effort..I had half tail flex on .It was flat so halfway through the session I stopped and screwed it out which helped with earlier planing but I think the best of it was gone by then..

I sometimes thought I should be going as there were a few little whitecaps but then I'd look over the top of the polariods and reality stepped in..no way ..8-10kts..

If only it was an extra 2 knots it could have been lovely..

Just Lyds and I then James, John, Gert and some other foilers..
