Fun afternnon sail with Mark & Shane. Great fun running through the weedy smooth at the bottom of the NM run. Garmin watch said I'd done a 25.5 Alpha which got me a bit excited, GW52 does not agree

1258 days ago Peel Inlet, WA, AU tabou speedster 85, CA66 kar 7.1 fangy 22 The wind was reluctant until Rob went out on the foil and took one for the team.
I started on the 85 wide and didn’t get planing until my second sail across and rob went out on the foil. Did my first 20 kms then switched to the 66 and the wind didn’t really come in solid till we de-rigged the last sail.😜
All in all it was great to be out sailing with decrepit, stretch, Elmo and remery on a nice sunny spring afternoon.

Wind was light didn't trust it picking up so decided to experiment with the Pepe Delta on the big girl, which was to anyone with a semblance of common sense a tad optimistic putting a 21cm fin on a 92cm wude board. But I was well happy yes it let go a few times but reovered incredibly well, there was more speed there but had to get of the water.
Whole lotta fun and very unexpected.
Note to all at Liptons
The was a dirty great big snake went from the parking on the hut side into the bush behind Waricles car so just keep an eye out.

1258 days ago Peel Inlet, WA, AU. Foil, then FF113/2XC 7.8/MUF Delta24. Interesting to learn what it takes to make Huey behave: 1/ bring foil gear in van - No, not enough. 2/ pull gear out and fit foil to board - no not enough. 3/ put foil gear in contact with water - no, not enough. 4/ drag your gear a couple of hundred metres across the shallows to reach deeper water - yes, 100% guaranteed wind will kick in. Yep, by the time I got out there the wind had kicked and foiling with the 7.8 was providing a few arse clenching moments and one nice divot in the estuary. After a long walk back through the shallows I chucked the Falcon 113 on. No problems getting going, but was having problems with the setup. My HSM 7.3 used to work well with that board and fin, but the 7.8 being bigger and lower aspect seemed to overwhelming the fin. Fiddled with various settings, but could never get comfortable . Anyhow, at least we got a sail. Good to be out with Mike, Pete, Alby and Remery 😎

Decrepit (54483km):
1257 days ago That was fun, but I almost gave up.
I had rigged the 6.2 on the 55cm board and this time plugged the 26cm@45.
Remery, Stretch and I sat and watched Waricle float around on his big gear for ages, the Stretch decided his foil would get going, and maybe bring the wind in, so off he trudged through miles of shallows to get to water deep enough, sure enough a few white caps started to appear once he got to sailable depth. Remery and I then sat and watched Waricle still floating and Stretch flying. Wind continued to build, and suddenly Waricle was planning and Stretch was headed back to change to the slapper.
Elmo appeared and the wind didn't drop!
So Remery and I both hit the water around 4PM I was planning straight away. I did a couple of short runs to make sure I wasn't just in a lucky gust, then spent the next hour cruising between liptons and point Grey. The weedy felt much better than the 21cm deltoid I used yesterday, especially across the channel. But I grounded out most gybes at Pt Grey, and picked up weed I couldn't shake, had to get off to clear the fin, So I think this fin needs more rake at the tip. I was enjoying it, so it was hard to come in, but I was finding some holes through the channel and I was running out of daylight.
Here's tracks, not much speed at Pt Grey, 1 10s looks like it's in the middle of the channel!, I do remember bearing off to follow the swell instead of smashing into it, could that be it?
